had the most unpleasant experience with mandarin island. ordered soup for 4, receiver only one container for 2. won't order fromt his place any more. first time i got cheated on delivery more

I ordered the pan fried dumplings, bbq pork fried rice, tsing tao beef steak and honey walnut shrimp. the pan fried dumplings had no flavor what so ever. It was barely pan fried and when i got it (delivery) the wrap was somewhat soggy. As for the bbq pork fried rice...once again no flavor...where was the bbq flavor? there were little chunks of pork and the vegetables were not fresh (in my opinion because they were all uniformly cut). As for the tsing tao steak...again, no flavor. The sauce was okay. If you flavor the steak with salt and pepper, that goes a long way. Will I order again? No way. The delivery time was good (@ 30 minutes) and the delivery driver was very nice, friendly and professional. more

The Best Chinese food in the Valley 6/15/2011

Where do I begin, this place is amazing. The food is to die for, I'm talking about the best tangerine chicken you have ever tried. It's crispy, its sweet, its just so damn good. The shrimp fried rice has so much flavor and you cannot stop eating it. You should also try to sizzling rice soup, its perfect for a cold evening just enough heat to warm you up. Try it you will love it. more

Excellent value & authentic chinese food 11/3/2008

My wife and I are new to the Mission Hills are but went to try out Mandarin Island and were very pleasantly surprised. They have everything you would expect a Chinese restaurant to have but the prices are fantastic! We got dinner for two - including soup - for less than $20! That included enough food that we had to take some home with us as well.\r \r If you are looking for good Chinese food and are in the Mission Hills area I would highly recommend that you try Mandarin Island.
