Very slow 7/8/2003

we went on a friday. it was so dead. The old owner harassed at the door and asked us a billion questions. we managed to have fun when we started doing shots. a bartender i think it was will?? was very hot hot!! and nice. overall they need more people or some promoters. more

Middle of the Road 3/8/2003

On the weekends, Madisons has a cover charge between $10 & $13. It's a decent size place with a small dance floor. Madisons is nothing to look at; an old looking place with nothing special. The DJs leave a lot to be desired. They play a lot of old music. Its like a dance bar from the suburbs. This is a place to go when your in the mood to get sloppy drunk and stupid with your friends. If your in the mood to go someplace nice, go else where. Cons: cover charge, no decor, bad DJs more

mm, no 2/12/2003

Was not fun. You could definitely tell that people came here to try to hook up and it was just plain gross. Place is in the middle of nowhere. Had to pay cover. All the girls looked exactly the same and not in an especially good way. more

New Years was like a Bad Frat Party 1/1/2003

They sold WAY TOO MANY tickets for the New Years Party. If I'm paying $90 for an open bar, I'd like to actually be able to get to the bar without elbowing people out of the way, and not have 10 gallons of alcohol spilled on me by people walking by. I also found it ironic that the old guy outside was telling guys he wasnt going to let them in because they weren't dressed well enough, but I've been to frat parties that were classier than this joint. Also, where was the champagne toast and food that they advertised? Pros: fun music Cons: too crowded, bouncers are jerks more

The old man at the door 12/20/2002

Who is the old guy that signals to the meat-heads outside whether or not he will let people in? What a creepy old man. He is a little bit out of place in a bar like this, after all, who wants to go out drinking with their grandfather staring at their girlfriend. Place has gone down hill over the past couple of years. Used to be a good time, was a decent singles scence. These days it tries to be something that it is not. Save your money, take a cab to the village. Who wants to dance to Barry Manilow anyway?? Pros: nothing more

Never Again 12/3/2002

The bouncer as such a jerk....thought he was something special, but he aint....had a major attitude..there was a line out front and no one inside more

DECENT NIGHT OUT 11/17/2002

Madison's is like your fall back plan if you want to know that you are going to have at least a halfway decent time. Sometimes the dance floor is crowded with "meatheads" and other times it's not to bad with a nice selection of beautiful women. Prices are a little steep but service is relatively quick. Good singles scene. If you are in the mood for a club, don't go here. If you are in the mood for a bar, don't go here. If you are mixed between the two, go here. REVIEWER-MOJO33 more

Nice scenery 11/15/2002

I enjoyed this place, all three times I went there. They sometimes run ladies' night on Fridays (no cover all night), the drinks are cheaper than most places in Manhattan (comparable to my neighborhood bars in Queens), and the bartenders are really nice. Pros: Fairly cheap drinks, Good music, Friendly crowd more

yeah, not fun 11/4/2002

I really didn't enjoy myself here on Saturday night. Seriously. I know it seems like a fun time. But it wasn't. Im not cheap, BUT a 15 dollar cover was not worth it at ALL. Music was just ok. Drinks over-priced, as usual. Not a good time. No No No Pros: you are still in nyc, they have alcohol, they have music Cons: you'd rather be home, alcohol too expensive, but its not fun more

It was alright... 11/2/2002

I actually had a really good time here but I think it was because I was with a great group of friends. The bar itself was pretty bad and the bartenders had no personalities but then after 11 they open the second room, the dance club. The DJ did not except any requests and was playing pretty terrible 80's music. And the crowd was the typical upper east side crowd but after all that I still had fun. more
