Best local bar in Cary 6/11/2006

One of the best hometown style bars I've been to. Don't let one night make or break your judgement. Many night's, Mac's is busy and can be loud, crowded and a little lengthy in service. But that's what a good bar is supposed to be, right? Come again on a less than crowded night and get to know the friendliest staff in town. You'll feel like you're on CHEERS! The food is actually quite good also. Try the Turkey Rueben, steak sandwhich or Buf Chkn salad! With a summer patio, bands are frequent and fun. Darts, pool and foos can keep you entertained otherwise. Daily specials can leave you with a customer friendly bill. Best in Cary!!! Great neighborhood place 10/25/2005

Mac's has one of the best staffs around. Great location, very friendly regulars, excellent music on the patio and occasionally inside. Food is pretty standard bar-type fare, but they know how to pour a Guinness and have a nice selection. Plenty of TVs and NTN trivia too. Dennis is one of the best/nicest bar owners around. Atmosphere is average, but far improved over what used to be there (Coyote Cafe). Patio is huge -- one of the best, if not the best, in the Triangle. Really good special events once in awhile too. Can get a little smoky at times, but it's usually not so crowded you can't move so that's generally not an issue. Pros: staff, entertainment, patio Cons: average food, decor more

Where you are remembered 4/3/2005

The staff (Jim, Billy, Phil, Susan and Amy) are wonderful and remember you and your preferences. Plenty of seating, good solid barfood, good selection of beer on tap and the service is prompt and nice. It isn't Glenwood South, because they aren't aiming to be that. As the editorial said, a good neighborhood bar. more
