Not a complete rip off but a pretty crappy paint job overall. I brought in an older SUV with a few rust spots and parking lot dings for a fresh paint job. Chose the medium grade one part paint. The body work was done alright but the paint job is really amateurish which is hard to imagine in a place that does nothing but paint cars. Drips, craters, overspray. Basically a crap paint job. It was impossible to see these sorts of defects in their below ground poorly lit garage so I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet. I don't expect anything but to be blown off. Car interior was messy and they got paint on the car key. . more

Maaco is a piece of sh*t 9/11/2008

Never go to Maaco. They will give you a bogus estimate and will actually make your car worse, not better. On top of that, they will not reimburse you if you are not satisfied with their quality of work. The mechanics and the manager of the shop are disrespectful and honestly do not have common sense of ethical business customer service. At the end of the day, employees go home thinking it is okay to treat their customers with outright disrespect. The main point is that Maaco could care less about you, your money, and your car! more

Here was my formal complaint to the BBB...\r "I was given the hard sell when I first came in & was told that they were having a slow week & they would give me a discount if I left my car this week. I went to pick up my car & it was not ready on Friday, 9/5, as promised. I was promised a reimbursement for the car rental for the extra day but there was no reimbursement check when I went to pick it up the next day. Upon pick up, it was dark & I noticed a couple things that were wrong right off the bat. I was told that I could go over them with the Manager on Monday because I wanted to get into the light and inspect more closely. I went to get in the car and found that there was paint dust/residue ALL over the place. All over the seats, carpeting, dash, cupholders, storage slots, etc. I asked if they could clean it and they said they didn't have time. So I asked if I could get a refund and the young man rudely said "Then go get your money back". I mean my car now requires a full interior de more

I went to pick up my car & it was not ready when they said it ws going to be. I was promised a reimbursement for the car rental for the extra day but there was no reimbursement check when I went to pick it up the next day. Upon pick up, I went to get in the car & found that there was paint dust/residue ALL over the place. All over the seats, carpeting, dash, cupholders, storage slots, etc. I asked if they could clean it & they said they didn't have time. So I asked if I could get a refund & the young man rudely said "Then go get your money back". I left feeling uncomfortable & noticed that they just wanted to get out of there because it was close to closing time. Upon further inspection I found: *my glass window was painted on, along with my side mirror; *my windshield wipers, mud guards, and tires were covered in wax and other oversprayed products; *a hole in my bumper was not fixed, just painted over; *scratches on my bumper were not fixed, just painted over; *scratches on my rear spoiler were not fixed, just painted over; *there was a new scratch on my trunk; *there was a new scratch in the front of my car on the right of the windshield (behind the side mirror); *there was bubbling paint on my front bumper; *and to top it all of there was a roll of green tape left in my car. Even though I was pressured to leave my car there because 'business was slow', my car was not ready when they promised it would be. The rental I was supposed to receive for free, I had to pay for. Overall, I felt that they rushed the job as evident by the roll of green tape left in my car & the dust all over the interior with no clean-up. I tried to contact the Manager & Maaco Customer Service line but they did not want to offer me any type of refund. Save yourself the time and aggravation. Not at all as promised. 9/16/2006

I spent $480 to have one rear door repainted and to have a dent fixed. I was promised that the paint would match exactly. It doesn't. The car is two-tone, and the top color is too light. The bottom color which was only "touched up" was touched up with silver instead of beige. It looks worse than before. Also, they spilled a silver paint patch onto the blue, left a silver thumbprint on the blue, and didn't sand the touched up paint. The former dent looked pretty good, though not perfect as promised. Matching paint was also promised, and they didn't deliver. When I pointed these things out, the rep became hostile with me, saying I shouldn't expect any better, then said I could bring it back to be redone. But then he refused to take any money off the estimate at all, even though it wasn't done right and now I have to bring it back and leave it for ANOTHER 3 or 4 days. PROS: Charming service at estimate time, body work (not painting) ok. CONS: Shoddy workmanship, unfair treatment. more

Maaco came highly recommended to me and I pas son teh recommendation! I has my car repainted here and got a great deal. Hint: having it done in January is cheaper! They were professional and courteous and even gave me a lift back to the T after I dropped off my car. I felt as though I had a brand new car! PROS: professional and experienced CONS: not on public transportation more
