Lyons is hands down the worst company I have ever interacted with. Even though my roommate and I gave them separate deposit checks, they mailed me a deposit check back in both of our names. Normally, I would not have minded this except for the fact that I graduated and moved 3 1/2 hours away from Valdosta while my roommate stayed in Valdosta. We both needed to be present to cash the check even if both of us were to endorse the back of the check. After explaining this to Lyons, they still refused to mail us separate checks and the woman on the phone said, ""Maybe you can cash it next time you come to visit"". I almost fell out of my chair when she said that to me; so disrespectful and ridiculous. Also, Lyons shorted both my roommate and I on our deposit check back by $400 due to the fact that we painted our rooms and they claimed that we did not get permission to do so. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! We both received verbal permission to paint our rooms from Lyons. I actually emailed them a paint swatch (because they required us to have the paint color approved) but they did not email me back, so I called for permission which I was given verbally. I don't doubt that they never emailed me back because they did not want there to be proof that they gave us the go-ahead to paint (probably so they could pocket the deposit money themselves). They were SO difficult with the whole rental process and do not run like a legitimate business. My advice to any renters: DO NOT rent from Lyons unless you want to be stolen and swindled from.
