""Just Because Someone Is On TV, Doesn't Make Them A Star""\r
\r
The reason I write this review is to share my experiences with Luther Auctions In North Saint Paul.\r
If you want to have a terrible auction experience, try consigning with Tracy Luther Auctions, they are rude and act like snobs, and what ever you have is garbage. I don't care if it's the Holy Grail, It's garbage. They won't want to consign it ""because it won't do well there"", they would say. I guess they are doing so well that they can turn away business, ""Or they don't want to junk the place up"". I once brought in a pair of crystal lamps and told them I understand all the risks, that if it don't sell for more then $20 I would get nothing, and was turned away, so I sold it at another auction for $225, It's just weird to me for a business to turn down money, but they are stuck in there little bubble. If you can somehow break down the wall and consign with them, they will get you good prices, I once seen a box of yarn sell there for $35 that someone consigned, but my stuff is not good enough.\r
If your a buyer there, I hope you don't mind a sore back side.\r
After the sales tax and the buyers premium it comes out to be 22%,\r
So if you win a item for $100, you would have to pay $122.\r
The items here usually sell for top dollar, but every once in a while, if you do your due diligence and show patience, you can make a nice score. I once picked up a biscuit tin for $42 and sold it online for $500.\r
But it's OK. if you don't mind a speed auction and bad jokes, they have some good stuff, if you can keep up with it. Also find out what ""times the money"" means, It could save you some problems. Arrive early and inspect the items, they are usually flawed, and sold under the pretense ""sold as is"".
