Some of the best burgers and fries in Charlotte in an interesting little shop. It's nice that there are still some non-chain places like this still around.

Worst

This place used to have the very best chili in Charlotte. Very mediocre now.

I love this place! Even when I moved an hour from town, I had to come back just to eat here!! You gotta love a restaurant where people stand in line in all kinds of weather to wait for meatloaf and mashed potatoes!! Don't miss the chili, and you HAVE to have banana pudding! Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great peoplewatching! more

A customer for 10 years, I have never left the cafe once still hungry, best throw down nachos anywhere, chili and burgers are awesome, banana pudding to die for. Smiling, friendly wait staff. This place raises comfort food to an art form. Pros: Great Value, Friendly Wait Staff more

Lupie's is located in one of the ""cool"" areas of Charlotte; just a couple of miles from downtown. You will need a big appetite and little money! Be prepared, though, to wait in line during peak times. Pros: easy to get to, good parking, healthy servings Cons: music can get loud, limited seating more

Surprise, surprise! It was not a Mexican place after all. What a good lunch place this is! Dig those Mexican hens and roosters! I knew immediately that not one real Lupie would make an appearance. I used to drive by every day at lunch, and it always had a line outside. You can try everything in a couple of visits. It's so cheap! Not only is the food the best, but the quality service you get is hard to top. The only bad part about this place is they dont take a wait its just first come first serve, but it adds to its flare. This is definitly a top restaurant in Charlotte more

Atmosphere; No Fear 7/24/2002

Lupies has to be the cotton pickin best place to eat and really enjoy what you went in there for. Every item on the menu is the finest fixins available in the whole Charlotte area. If you ain't been there yet, then what in the world are you waitin for. No place could be finer than Lupies in Caroliner. Pros: Menu, Prices, Atmosphere Cons: its crowded, little parking more

Lupie's is a must! 6/12/2002

I grew up in Charlotte and now live in Los Angeles, but every time I go home, I always have to visit Lupie's. The food is fantastic and the whole experience is just so Southern and homey. The sweet tea and the banana pudding are highlights, but everything is so fattening and good (a nice change from the tofu and bean sprouts people eat in LA). If you're visiting Charlotte, don't miss out on this experience. more
