Located on Ford Parkway, in Saint Paul’s Highland Park, Lunds is a good full-service grocer. The butcher and deli staff are attentive, and friendly people bag your groceries.
Despite popular opinion, Lunds isn’t ridiculously over-priced. You won’t find great bargains on produce, but a can of Hormel chili will often be cheaper than it is at Cub or Rainbow (And I’ve never scene crime-scene tape in front of Lunds).
On Saturday mornings, the aisles are full of white-haired women offering sausage samples. I find the store too crowded on weekend morning and from 5-7. I usually shop at two in the morning. Thank god Lunds is open 24 hours a day.
