Best Steak In Denver 12/14/2011

Two weeks ago my husband and I joined some friends at Luke's a Steak Place. As it turned out it was the 20th anniversary of the restaurant! While we have been long-time customers of this great restaurant, we weren't prepared for that evening. All guests were given complimentary samples from the new appetizer menu. The sliders were incredible, and I could have easily made a meal on those alone! As usual, the food and service were great. We love going to Luke's. The servers are well trained and no how to provide great service without being intrusive. If you haven't been in -- Try it. We love it. more

Superb! 12/14/2011

Great food! Now this is what prime grade beef is supposed to be; Tender, aged and succulent. Service was fantastic. Nice pace to the meal, never felt rushed. We started with an order of Crab Cakes that were ""heavenly"" as described by the wife. Next I had the house salad and she had a wedge salad. Both salads were very good. For our main course, I had the 20oz Porterhouse, wife had the 8 oz filet, both were mouthwatering and cooked perfectly. Easily the most tender, flavorful, delicious steak I've EVER eaten. We finished up with a Chocolate Raspberry for our anniversary. What’s not to love? Top notch food & drink. Top notch staff. Top notch experience. Highly recommended! more

wish there was a no star rating. my girlfriend took me there for my birthday on a recommendation from a client of hers. it was not good at all. food was way overpriced. i dont mind dropping $40-$50 for a really good steak, which the steaks here were only $38, but they were overcooked and very bland. the asparagus was soggy, the potatoes were hard. the server wasn't ever there to check on us, even though there were only 3 other guests besides us the whole time we were there. i was carded for drinks, but not wished a happy birthday. when a manager came near the end of our meal to ask how it was, we said it was kinda bland. she said ""really? sorry"" and walked away. we were never thanked for coming, nor was there a ""good bye"". i called and asked for a manager after leaving, and she said she would talk to the owner and call me back tuesday. it's wednesday and i just called. the owner answered the phone and just said there was nothing he was going to do for me. i asked why he couldn't even call, and he just reiterated that he wasn't going to do anything. we spent over $100 for the two of us, and it was supposed to be a special occasion. i've never had a worse experience at a steak place in my life, texas roadhouse and the like included. go anywhere else but there. Pros: absolutely none Cons: everything about lukes, including the owner more

Great steaks with a middle of the road atmosphere. The cost to reward here is good, great with the quality of steak. The house salad is also a highlight. Pros: Great Prices, Very good salad, STEAKS Cons: Wait times, Service is average, Feels like local bar more

Casual Dining With An Exquisite Taste

Owner Message
  • Luke’s was established 20 years ago by entrepreneur Mike Lucas. Initially there was no menu – only filets, New York or Porterhouse, salad served family style along with spaghetti, baked potatoes or home style fries. Guests finished off their dinners with delicious home made cheesecake.
As Luke’s celebrates 20 years of business in West Denver, that original menu has been greatly expanded! Mouth-watering appetizers, house salad, and the Wedge, succulent grain-fed USDA prime beef steaks 40 day aged, and grilled to perfection, thick lamb chops, juicy pork tenderloin, seafood pasta, and incredible chicken dishes. Luke’s also features a Surf and Turf combination, with the steak of your choice served with lobster or large shrimp. The seafood menu changes often as all of our fresh fish is flown in daily andextensive wine list tempts even the most discriminating palate.
