Amazing Italian Cuisine and Wine List 6/3/2009

Luigi's was a great place to find! I have eaten at Italian restaurants in Queens, which have been good, but Luigi's raises the bar on what authentic Italian dishes should be! The Calamari is unique in taste and texture, the ravioli's were amazing, and the pizza was perfect (the wood burning oven from Italy makes this so). The wine list is something to write home about, it is very extensive, I haven't seen a wine list like this in some time. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Luigi's as well. 2 Thumbs up for Luigi's, you are missing out if you haven't been here! Pros: Taste, Portions, Presentation, Atmosphere Cons: Are you kidding me? None at all! more

Great Food 5/18/2009

Update : Recently they did the firehouse holiday party and the food was fantastic. Rhonda the Takeout manager put together a fantastic spread for us. I came here with 25 friends from the local Fire Department. The food was great, as was the service. I had The Frito misto, The shrimp Martini and the Seafood Combo which were all delicious. Overall it was a delicious meal, we ate like kings and didn't break our budget either. Pros: Really Nice Privite Room Cons: Long wait on weekends more

EXCELLENT!!! 5/12/2009

Excellent restaraunt!!! The back room is excellent for larger parties, and the front room is perfect for intimate dinners. The portions are AMAZING!!!! menu's so extensive, it took me forever to figure out what i wanted to eat. very friendly service, made lots of useful suggestions and spent lots of time on our table even though the place was packed. but the best part about Luigi's is definitely their food. It's definitely comparable to some of the more famous Manhattan restaraunts, but it's much closer and better priced. Pros: food, environment, price, service Cons: i didn't find this place sooner! more

Great place to eat!!! 4/29/2009

The food was delicious. The polenta was amazing. Sitting in the back room was very nice, plenty of room. We were able to sit and talk; no one rushed us out. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. more

Very hit-or-miss 11/1/2008

I find their quality very inconsistent . Some days the food is great, other days it's below mediocre. I don't know why. I can only guess it might be different quality cooks working that day. Sometimes the same meals taste like they came from completely different restaurants. They should really work on keeping it consistent because half the time I'm sorry I ate there. Pros: occationally great food Cons: occationally below average food, never know what to expect more

Why did they change the Menu??? 7/14/2005

Something happened in the past month, and I don't like it. They changed the Menu. The food always left you with a great feeling, but I guess it could not last forever. Their fresh Gnocchi was to die for with the fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella melted on top. I ordered it last night, and it was drenched in this white parmesan sauce and took away from the taste of the gnocchi. The funny thing, they used the same sauce to drench the lasagna for someone else in my group. Just did feel right and defiantly not Italian. The only saving grace was the great Calamari, but the main course was sub par. So sad...so sad. Cons: Changed Menu more
