I know this comment is over two years old, but I did want to clarify a few things in it, since I have had great success with this rescue and believe they do great work. First off, they are only open those hours because of the hours of the veterinary clinic which runs them. After every puppy or kitten is adopted, it goes across the street and is examined by a veterinarian a second time and they check it again for worms also to ensure that they are not adopting out a sick animal to you. If they are closed, they can't open just for you because you couldn't take the pet home any way since the vet clinic isn't open to give the pet it's final examination. The clinic also isn't open on Sundays, so they can't be open then, either. Love at First Sight rescues so many unwanted puppies and kittens from irresponsible owners who don't fix their pets and would probably just give the animals away on Craigslist for free to who knows what fate. They also help local county shelters with puppies because most of them would have to just be euthanized due to overcrowding in the shelter. If you want to ensure you are getting a healthy pet along with a rescue, then choose Love at first sight. They are wonderful! more

They obviously do not want to help adopt! 5/5/2010

After my 6th trip to adopt a Cat and I was turned away on a Saturday morning at 11:35, by a Closed Sign, I have decided that they people running Love at First Sight are there for a paycheck adn flexible hours instead of helping these animals. I was outside the doors with a couple that wanted a Kitty in the window, a family that wanted one of the black Labs in the cages, and myself who wanted to adopt and older cat. The 5 employees inside of the store ignored us as we knocked and pleaded in the pouring rain to rescue these animals. The hours of LAFS are mid morning to early afternoon M-F, so if you work forget about it, and morning to 11:30 on Saturdays, closed on Sundays. So when exactly are you supposed to adopt an animal??? The losers here are the poor animals that lost three homes that day, due to the fact we were all 5 minutes late. This is not a shop in the mall and if they were out for the right reasons, they would have opened the door to us so we could have opened our homes to these animals. All three of us traveled to the Human Shelter and saved animals that day. So if you do not want youre heart broken by the animals who will never have a chance to be adopted, stay away from LAFS and head to your local Human Shelter. Cons: Hours, people more
