I?ve been using Dr. Howatt for over five years. When I first arrived I hadn?t been to the dentist inn a very long time and I needed major work done. I had teeth removed, implants, crowns?the works. She never made me feel like I was dumb for not taking better care of my teeth while I was younger and she made everything easy. I also love how her office deals with insurance. I do nothing and fill out no paperwork. They handle it all and if I have a major procedure that I have to pay in advance, I always get a check back quickly for any overpayment. I work in a highly competitive field (Big 6 Consulting and Financial Services) and often have to give presentations to senior executives. As such, the appearance of my teeth is extremely important to me. I've been going to Dr. Howatt for over ten years as she has not only provided routine cleanings and ordinary dentistry, but also some highly cosmetic procedures on my teeth. People often comment on my nice ""smile"", yet never suggest that I've had any cosmetic work done...which is a true testament to Dr. Howatt's skill in this area. She has even been able to ""match"" the appearance of work done earlier by my former dentists and no one has noticed -- even on my front teeth. Additionally, Dr. Howatt and her staff have always been professional and have worked very hard to accommodate my schedule. Most importantly, Dr. Howatt listens to any concerns I've ever had and has shown empathy beyond what I normally would expect. She's truly a consummate professional. more

Unless you are seeking only to get a cleaning, stay away from Dr. Howatt. I used to be her patient for over 2 years and had no major complaints about her services while they remained basic: cleanings and check ups. However, when I needed to receive a more thorough dental care and it was time for her to demonstrate her skills, she failed at every level -- skill, compassion, and consideration. I cannot tolerate unprofessional treatment and poor work that needs to be redone. So my advice is to stay away. more

I saw Dr. Howatt and she is the worst dentist I have ever visited. I found her to be rough and extremely arrogant. She has an attitude and she doesn't listen. I found the whole experience painful and very frustrating. I would never go back! Avoid her if you can. more

Almost every element of the experience with Dr. Howatt was hugely disappointing. The service was mediocre at best. The crown she fixed broke in half in two months. But worst of all is the fact that Dr. Howatt has a major attitude. I had to remind her that I was a patient, a paying client and I disliked the treatment I received. Her reply to this was to direct me to follow her, so her secretary could make a new appointment for me. Eventually she did the crown over, without properly explaining to me how the new one would look. Every time I'd ask her a question, she'd give me a raised eyebrow look. Eventually, the new crown came out looking very different -- a different shade and shorter than the rest of my teeth. I am very unhappy with the result: $1,400, plenty of aggravation and hours of discomfort later, I'm left with a discolored shorter front tooth. ""The advanced dentistry you expect"" and ""Care and attention you deserve"" on her card seem like a bitter joke. But I'd rather have no tooth than see this person ever again. Just..... don't.
