A Perfect Pairing with an Excursion to Longwood Gardens 2/5/2006

The Terrace Restaurant is a fabulous café inside Longwood Gardens. The main downside to this fantastic restaurant is that you cannot eat here without purchasing an admission ticket to the entire estate. Longwood Gardens is well worth the cost of admission though, so do yourself a favor and make reservations for a late lunch during your trip. The food selection is impressive, and they have a very affordable and long wine list to complete your meal. Make sure you save some room for dessert-- this is the place to splurge! If you can, try to get a seat on the umbrella'ed patio. more

A nice resting spot and great food. 12/29/2005

After walking the gardens what a nice surprise to have this restaurant to relax in after the tour. It was a nice time to relax after looking at the beautiful gardens. I remember when they had no food or drinks in Longwood Gardens. This makes the trip much more fun and really completes the whole trip. You can stop for dinner or do what we did and had dessert and coffee before the walk to the car. If you have a large group you can reserve a room and have a buffet for all. The food was great and the service was friendly. more

Delightful gardens! 12/27/2005

Longwood Gardens is a fabulous place to explore. The garden displays are all wonderful and diverse. When you enter the greenhouses you will be surprised at all the wonderful plant displays. My favorite time to visit is at Christmas because they have especially beautiful holiday displays and the fountain show is impressive. But also visit in the warm weather and explore all the grounds outside- it surely is overflowing with natural beauty. more

Gardens 12/15/2005

Excellent place to visit. Beautiful gardens and displays with all kinds of flowers. Every season brings some kind of special display. Love to go during December to see the Christmas lights. They have a great fountain light show with music. Definitely recommend. This place has huge parking lot which is plenty of parking. There is even parking for buses. more

The best garden and arboretum I've ever visited 9/22/2005

Hands down the best landscaped garden and arboretum I've ever visited. I have been here at least a dozen times and each time there are different displays and something is changing. All of the areas of the Gardens are changing throughout the year, so to fully appreciate, visit this a couple times throughout the year. Their Christmas and winter displays are stunning and the Italian water gardens and rose gardens in the summer are beautiful. There is history mixed in here too, so that is another pro for Longwood. Do not miss this place if you are in the area. more

Nice day trip 8/24/2005

This is a great place to go if you are in the area for a day or so and want to take a nice relaxing trip. It costs a little more than going to the movies but it takes a while to stroll through all of the garden arrangements and flowers. It is a nice outdoor activity. In the winter they have a really nice Christmas display and everything is lit up and festive. Make sure to arrive during off hours at this time of the year, the traffic going there can backup for miles. more
