Amazing Tacos 12/10/2009

I had to run to MS for a small shopping trip and parked in front of Urban Taco. Initially I didn't want Mexican, but they were right in front of me! I ordered the Red Snapper fish taco ( I will try fish tacos ALMOST anywhere) and the Potato, Zucchini, Pablano Taco. I was not disappointed at all. It was awesome. The atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly. For lunch, I got my order pretty quick too! The place was clean, warm & inviting. I will def go there again! Cool cocktails, tasty tacos 4/27/2009

This place is great! The service can be a little slow at times, but if you can nab one of the 4 or 5 seats at the bar, you're golden. I am a huge fan of their mango mojitos. Not too sweet, and they taste TOTALLY authentic and fresh...and just a bit different. The tacos are also the best bet - go for the corn side. Delish! more

Although the portions are not huge, the taste here IS. Pros: Great taste, and spice. Cons: Portions can be too small. Yuca fries are not always great more

Bait and Switch 1/8/2009

The tacos are unimpressive and small. The service is pretty unorganized and slow for a small place. It took almost 15 minutes just to get the chips and salsa trio to our table. The salsas aren't that great. I tried all the salsas and the only decent one was the tomatillo verde salsa. The only saving grace entree is the torta with rice, BUT, it comes with the nastiest yucca fries. They are really hard to chew and unappetizing. Just thinking about them makes my stomach uneasy. Even the waitress agreed they are unpopular and has lobbied to change them to potato fries. (Management, listen to your employee!!!) Pros: Tortas with rice Cons: Service, Rest of menu, Value, False advertising more

Heavenly Fresh 10/24/2008

I have been going to Urban Taco since it opened. One of the things that keep me coming back to this place is the freshness of their food. What makes this place different from other taco places? well it really is Mexico city style with an urban twist like the name suggest. The tortillas taste like nothing I've had in the Dallas area, and the meats are so juicy and tasty, I usually get the al pastor tacos, which come with a hint of pineapple, just perfect! Food presentation is also great and the portions are just right. The atmosphere is hip with plenty of seating space. My new favorite place... 10/23/2008

i've been in this restaurant 5 times in one month, i love this little place, the food is amazing, i really feel that is so fresh and healthy, nothing is greasy or heavy, my favorite plate is the tropical salad, home made chips and sauces, i'm defenitly going back next week for another salad and a torta this time. 'Eh - wouldn't try it 9/11/2008

I fell in love with this place the first 3 or 4 visits, but the honeymoon is over. I will admit that the taco platter is still a favorite of mine, but the last time I ordered it, they over charged me by $2. The menu clearly states that you get any 3 tacos for $9.49, but they charged $1 extra on our bill for ordering fish tacos. I double checked the menu and it does not state there is an extra charge anywhere. It turns out the fish tacos are 50 cents more if you ordered them separately, so I could understand if I was charged 50 cents more AND if the menu did not state ANY 3 tacos for one price. The thing was, the manager wouldn't even come talk to us and the waitress agrued with us. It was just a bad experience. I don't trust 'em. I won't go back again. Pros: Fairly decent tacos Cons: Portion sizes, waiters and management with attitude and prices more

Good Taco's but VERY VERY small portions especially for guys. If you have a big appetite you might have to order a lot of tacos to fill you up. more
