This apartment complex has everything you could ask for. It is in a perfect location near the mall and super target. They have a movie theater in the club house, along with a gym ...

Worst

I have lived at The Lodge At Southpoint for almost a year and am moving out when my contract expires due to extreme rent increases and various problems through the year.

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/26/2012

This place is horrible! My husband lived here for almost four years, so when we moved in together a year ago after getting married we decided to move into a bigger apartment here. It *was* a nice place with a gym and pool. Unfortunately, the office management changed and this place is terrible! There are bull dogs and other forbidden breeds here. I called to complain because there is one resident who never puts his bull dog on a leash and my dog gets scared. They did nothing. The gym equipment is not maintained, and one of the treadmills was broken for over 6 months. It used to be a great place for young professionals and families, but now the pool is filled college kids drinking beer. I pay over $1400.00 a month to be treated like crap. Stay away--this place is a joke! My husband and I paid to get out of our lease! more

I just can't stay here any longer 4/11/2012

I am so disappointed. I just can't stay another moment. The trash is forever overflowing, the appliances are horrible. There is mold/meldew growing in the windows because they arent made properly and they wanted me to clean them and it took multiple maintance calls for them to address it! The thermastat doesn't read the correct temperture. The water gets cold after one shower. The dogs poop where they please and there is no regulation. The water quality is poor (there is pink crystal depositing on every water outlet). The services at the front desk are not professional and borderline rude when I ask for maintance requests...for the 2nd and 3rd time. I am a professional student but my standards weren't that high because I'm a student. But I would never recommend that my family or friends stay there. I almost thought about braking my lease...seriously. Plus the the breakfast they serve, they DON'T REPLENISH...so unless you are the very first ones to get there...it's not worth the hype they make it out to be. Sorry to bust anyone's bubble cause for the location, it should be better. Do not waste your money or time. Pros: null Cons: null more

Overpriced and Problematic 8/16/2011

I have lived at The Lodge At Southpoint for almost a year and am moving out when my contract expires due to extreme rent increases and various problems through the year. 1. Appliances - during a 12 month period my washer, dryer, dishwasher, and air conditioner have all broken. The maintenance men come the next day and fix it (except the air conditioner which has broke several times this summer) and they are very friendly. My biggest complaint is that the appliance are poor quality and if it breaks during the night they make you feel a bit guilty for calling the maintenance line. 2. Office Hours and staff - The office hours are terrible if you have a job. They are open from 8:30-5:30 during the week so you can never go in and talk to them and on Saturdays and Sundays are busy giving tours and never around or there are a million people waiting. 3. Packages - come to the office instead of the mail kiosk, but you can't get them because the office closes at 5:30 so you have to wait until Saturday or Sunday if you want to get your package. 4. The garbage area is NASTY - it is always overflowing and a serious health hazard. I have considered calling Environmental Health Services on several occasions. 5. The green areas are covered with dog poop and occasionally litter. It is a pet friendly community (and I have a dog) but most owners aren't respectful and do not clean up after their pets. 6. The sprinkler system does not water the grass but instead waters the sidewalk and sand volleyball and parking lot. After complaining to the manager that our money was being wasted she said that the funds are from elsewhere and that "it isn't a big deal" - but not being able to get to your door without getting soaked is actually a "big deal" 7. The office staff (except Stacy) are generally very negative and unfriendly. They are short to speak when answering questions and do not create a welcoming environment for the residents. 8. The rent is going up astronomically. My rent increase this year to renew my lease was an extra $250 a month. In this economy nobody is getting a $250 a month pay increase and even if I was, I certainly wouldn't spend it to stay at this place. more

Save your money, buy a sweet tent. 6/2/2008

I have lived here going on two years. The only reason why is that it is hard to move out of a two bedroom apartment alone. Let's start with the good parts of the Lodge: 1. Pretty flowers 2. I get to leave this place every day and go to work. Now on the the not so good: 1. I could communicate faster with the office through carrier pigeon than email. 2. The only place to wash your car is a hose hidden in a shrubbery. 3. That hose happens to be near the one dumpster. 4. Japanese paper houses have thicker insulation. (This could be a plus, but only if you enjoy hearing pets and the occasional neighborly intercourse) 5. Years ago I lived in a place where residents had attentive management and tenant's rights. This place happened to be a dorm. Pros: I only have to sleep here Cons: has more cons than the atmosphere does oxygen... more

over priced 11/9/2006

I love this area, but the prices were just too high for my family. We chose the Evergreens b/c the rates were a little better and it was still closer to Duke for us. Plus, the staff was so nice to my family. Pros: nice location Cons: Rates too high more
