KILLER ROOF DECK, GREAT CROWD 8/25/2005

not sure if I just caught the place on a couple good nights but I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Did the happy hour thing the last couple weeks on a Thursday night and had a blast. Terrible, over-priced food 8/16/2005

I ordered fish and chips, which looked and tasted like giant frozen fish sticks. I guess they figured that adding a huge mound of french fries would somehow make the $5 fish worth $14. My friend ordered a $14 sandwhich and both of us left feeling queasy. The quality of the food is terrible and definitely not worth the price. more

HORRIBLE! 8/15/2005

I met my friends at Local West after work one evening and vow to never return. Not only were the drinks an additional $3 on the rooftop but the waitress incorrectly tallied our bill. Once we brought this to her attention, she proceeded to tell us that New York was an expensive city and that we should deal with it. The waitress was rude, management was unorganized and I give the place a matter of months before it closes. My advice to Local West.loosen the waitress corsets, let the oxygen float to their brains, and then maybe youll have a chance at survival. more

$3 premium on the roofdeck 7/27/2005

There isn't much to choose from in this area for after work gatherings, so I was excited when Local built the roofdeck overlooking MSG. Much to my chagrin, they charge a ridiculous premium for drinks up there, for instance an extra $3 on bottles of beer and a limited selection of drinks upstairs versus the downstairs area. Just be wary before you buy a round upstairs, it may be your only one of the night. Waitresses do wear nice tank top uniforms up there though. more

Will have to do 7/21/2005

Since there is noplace else in the wasteland around the garden, this joint will have to suffice. Service on numerous occasions has been laughable to say the least. Waitresses might be slow because of mgmts requirement that they wear big black moon boots and run around serving drinks in 90 degree heat (trying too hard to be trendy). Food is edible but portion size is almost comical even to hardened Nyers. Pros: location Cons: service, food more

Roof top dump 7/15/2005

Everything seems to be fake here, from the breasts to the glassware. Though it's nice to find decent beers on tap, when they're served in dirty plastic pint glasses, it takes away from the experience. The people hanging out at this MSG-side bar look like the ring-girl rejects and their admirers. The bar itself is not noteworthy, even if it has one of the few rooftop bars in the area. To garnish its badness, the prices are high for this glorified hole-in-the-wall pub. Pros: rooftop bar, good beer on tap Cons: Over priced, dirty plastic glasses more

Good spot but service needs to improve 6/30/2005

My friend and I decided to stop by the location for a afterwork drink. Their was a good mix of people along with a nice roof deck. The service is extremely slow. They seemed to only have one waitress for the bottom section. Took over 20 minutes to get a beer. We ended up going up to the bar. Besides the slow service, double check the bill. Afterall, it is New York City. more
