DO NOT COME HERE FOR BRUNCH 10/28/2009

We came here for Sunday brunch thinking it would be as great as lunch and dinner. WRONG! There were three other tables seated and it took 15 minutes for us to order...and only then because we called the waiter over. He seemed annoyed that we were annoyed. We ordered the ultimate mimosas that are ""bottomless"" mimosas for $15.00. WRONG! There was absolutely no champagne in it. The waiter tried to explain that it was made ahead in a pitcher so the champange went flat. SERIOUSLY. Does any restaurant pride themselves on serving flat champagne? My salad was over dressed and my eggs benedict could've been made by my grandma. They played Mexican music the whole morning so we basically paid $50 dollars each for the La Tacqueria service and ambience. Do they know how many burritos we could've gotten? Go to Town Hall where the food and service is better and they would never serve flat champagne. Better yet, go to La Tacqueria where even their music is better. Pros: Free metered parking on Sunday Cons: The food, the drinks, the service more

Worst Service Ever!!! We had more interactions with the flies in the restaurant!!!! 6/20/2008

I've driven by several times and thought the restaurant looked like a trendy pizza place worthy to check out. There were signs near then entrance stating that the restaurant was ""open now for lunch and dinner"". When we walked in at 5:30 pm, a staff member said that it would be a 5 minute wait while they finished their team meeting. We waited 10 minutes then walked back into the restaurant when the hostess said it would be another 10 minute wait till opening because they were still finishing up their meeting. We asked if we could get change for a dollar for parking, but she looked annoyed and told me to go to the wine bar next door. By 6:05 we noticed that a couple had walked in and were seated, so we followed. Behind us there were another 2 couples-- one couple had come to pickup a to-go oder of pizza and salad. The hostess walked to the kitchen and brought out the 2 boxes of pizzas, but indicated that the salad was still being prepared. This did not make sense since it takes longer to prepare the pizzas!!! Then the hostess turns her attention to the 2nd couple and seats them. The whole time, I waited with my husband and daughter and no one greeted or seated us. There were 15 or 20 flies that were flying around the hostess' area. I swear the flies paid more attention to us then any of the staff members (at least 5 other workers just standing around while they looked at us). Instead of walking back to seat us, the hostess went to chitchat with another worker. Mind you....she knows we waited over 30 minutes and have asked her to be seated 2x but she still made no attempt to seat us or make eye contact to acknowledge our presence. So we took our money elsewhere. Why would they put signs up to say they were ""now open"" while the whole staff was standing around watching this ineffective hostess? Pros: Trendy looks Cons: Flies flying in front entrance, very rude hostess, ineffective staff more

The WORST bar service...ever. 4/3/2008

I typically NEVER write reviews unless something is so stellar, or really bad. Unfortunately, the service we had tonight at the bar was the worst experience I have ever had in all of SF. Hands down. Aloof, unattentive, and uninterested. He actually took the menu from my friend and gave it to his buddy, before asking us if we wanted to order any wine. He also stopped mid-sentence to go serve his friend first with some wine and chit chat before asking us if we wanted water, or anything else. Then, he forgot our order because he didn't write anything down, and proceeded to ask us again what we wanted. I am only giving it one star because the pizza was somewhat decent, and the decor is pretty nice. Let's hope the table service is a lot more professional than what we experienced this evening. What a disappointment. My two friends were equally unimpressed and frankly there are so many good places in SF that this is one place we won't be rushing back to. Cons: AWFUL service at the bar, the wine was warm since the glass was out of the dishwater. more

Great new spot 2/16/2008

I've been here twice for dinner- wonderful service, great simple food and fabulous wine selections. Thin crust pizza very tasty and entrees and good. Sit in the bar area just on the other side of the open kitchen and watch the fellas do their thing- I really feel they enjoy the company as well. I'll try to sit at the wine bar next time! Pros: ambience, various sitting areas more

Good food, great wines, cool scene, but slow service 2/10/2008

I have been to Local 4x for dinner and 2x for brunch. The food at dinner is good, they have a great wine list by the glass and a fun, hip atmosphere. The service is very friendly, but way too slow and absent minded. Over the course of 4 dinners at Local something (bread, our wine order, even our entries) has always been forgotten and everything takes forever. That said, the servers are very helpful and friendly, which does go a long, long way. Just wish they were a little more on their game.\r \r As for brunch, I have not been impressed with the food. It was about as generic and lack-luster as you can get for brunch. Certainly nothing special. Pros: Good food at dinner, great wine list (even by the glass), very friendly service, fun scene Cons: Service is very, very slow and absent-minded more
