I cant tell you the last time a dentist called me after a proceedure to see how I'm doing the next day! Dr. Litwin's staff is caring and compassionate, and Dr Litwin herself has been through enough personal dental experiences to understand what hurts, and how painful it could be for the patient. She walks you through what you need to have done, manages expectations for the experience while its being done, and is very careful for you not to have pain. I have yet to be hurt in her chair. I've had some good dentists, some very bad dentists and some average dentists. Dr. Litwin is my best dentist. The office inspires one with confidence--from the competent and caring manner of Dr. Litwin, to the cleanliness and newness of equipment, to the efficient staff. I've had fillings replaced, inlays and regular cleanings. In all cases, this has been an office at the top of its game. And since insurance companies can be as painful as a toothache, the very efficient administrative staff takes the pain out of the billing process. A first-class operation. Pros: Competent and caring. I am a patient of Dr. Litwin's and it has been a wonderful experience for me. I suffer from atypical facial neuralgia (something I was diagnosed with before I met Dr. Litwin). Dr. Litwin and her staff are very knowlegeable about my condition and always take their time to treat me so it wouldn't be a unpleasant experience. I also suffer from a bad case of TMJ and Dr. Litwin is the ONLY dentist I would allow to work on me. She takes time to understand the needs of her patients and works with you to get through whatever you need done. She had a mouth guard made for me to help alleviate my TMJ pain and it has worked wonders! I travel a distance to see her and it is worth every minute and dime spent. Her office and staff are wonderful! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a great dentist. I began the daunting task of seeking a dentist this year, and was glad to receive a referral from a friend of mine. He had been a patient of Dr. Litwin's and highly recommended her. Her office in Gramercy Park is warm and inviting, and the same can be said of her staff. She recommended changing my silver fillings (which were fracturing my teeth) to beautiful white ones. Now, I can throw my head back and laugh readily without a thought to those awful, ugly, silver fillings. She listened to all of my concerns and offered up great information to better my dental health. Now, Dr. Litwin is not only MY dentist, but is also the dentist to my close group of friends. DR. 9 months ago, I went to Dr. Litwin for a cracked crown. During the initial consultation, she informed me that I've been ruining my dental work over the years by grinding my teeth at night. She suggested various procedures including a night guard costing $4222 in total, and I figured I should ""do it right"" by following through. She offered a 10% off incentive if I paid in full, and I'm responsible for tracking down the reimbursement from my insurance. Anyway, I had to visit her office a dozen of times to work on a crown because the temporary crown kept cracking (at one point I was only eating steamed brussels spouts when one of the temporary crown cracked) and the permanent crown wasn't properly made. She blamed the Lab for the mistake. After several impressions and fittings over a few visits, the crown STILL doesn't fit well. There is a step between it and the surrounding molar. On top of it all, that area is now sensitive to cold and heat. That broke the camels back, and decided not to go back. Dr. Litwin and staff are nice people, and they did their best to treat me.
