This is Dave Hansen, the owner of Liberty Auto. The customer that wrote the LibertyAutoSucks review wrote that review before even talking to us about his problem with his Subaru he purchased. Seems there's no way to make negative comments go away when we were able to assist the customer. The mechanic who rebuilt his engine honored a warranty he had provided to Liberty Auto and repaired the oil leaks, completely resealing the engine. I checked with the customer about the middle of March 2012, and the customer is still happily driving his 98 Subaru Forester, leak and problem free. We at Liberty Auto are in our eighth year and strive to provide quality cars at affordable prices. We do understand that cars do sometimes break down (some 5000 things can break on a car the moment you drive it off the lot), but we do our best to assist customers in these instances with getting the work done very inexpensively. We also sell warranties, which cover from 3-months/3000 miles clear up to 5 years/100,000 miles. We have very few bad reviews and many repeat customers, both locally and from afar. The only other bad review I'm aware of was a customer who bought a lifted 1990 Jeep Cherokee to use as a long distance commuting car. The clutch went out after two weeks, and he made the false claim that we refused to honor a warranty. Well, he never bought a warranty, and there's not a company out there that would warranty a clutch. Buying a used car can be a great deal because of the significant money saved, but folks need to be aware that there are inherent risks that expensive things can break, some of which cannot be covered under warranty. To be totally immune, these buyers probably ought to stick to buying brand new cars and paying the huge premium that comes with them along with a bumper to bumper warranty. I went to liberty auto in good faith trying to find a nice first car. BUT it seems that they do not care about the quality of the car they are selling, these people are just in it for the money. I bought a subaru forester from them about two weeks ago. it had no leaks or funny noises the only thing i was expecting to have to buy was new tires but boy i was wrong. In the review on ksl it said that he had a new rebuilt engine in it but the machanic that looked at it said i was probably from an old junker in the junk yard and would have to be replaced by the end of the year. Since the two weeks i've had it its already gone through 3 quarts of oil and sqirting out from several different spots in the engine and more everyday, the michanic stated that they used a pepper technic that seals up oil leaks for about 100 miles then wares out. This Dealer is just full of Crooks. If you want an actual car that will get you from point A to B than i dont recomend going to LIBERTY AUTO in kaysville. i now am stuck with thousands of dollars in repairs and with the minimum wage im paid i dont know what to do. steer clear from these people if your in the market for a new car... more
