Service Has Room For Improvement 9/11/2010

I viewed the other critiques and they are reasoably accurate regarding the available service. The food at Levi's is extremely delicious and appetizing. The North Carolina BBQ and other Southern delicacies are definitely worth the current sub0standard wait service. A Bona Fide 3 stars. more

Skecthy but the chicken is bomb 5/31/2010

Fried chicken and mac-n-cheese. Holy mother of God, I found a place that does fried chicken right in the District of Columbia! Yes, I've been to Hitching Post, Henry's, Oohhs & Aahhs, etc. While all of those places give generous portions and I certainly liked their fried chicken, it wasn't excellent. Levi's fried chicken, while not the best I have had, is easily the best I have had in DC. A nice, crisp flavorful batter encapsulates a tasty piece of chicken. Hot gasps of oil and tiny fat globules work their way out while you are eating. This is the way fried chicken is meant to be. Well done Levi's. The mac-n-cheese is different than what I expect, but was incredibly generous on the cheese filling. I think their version was cheddar heavy. I would definitely come back for the fried chicken and the mac-n-cheese. Pros: fried chicken and mac-n-cheese Cons: most everything else more

Great food - Service could use work 4/29/2010

I read through some of the other reviews here and they are fairly accurate on the wait staff. I've eaten at Levis many times and the service ranged from adequate to poor. In all the times I've eaten at Levis however I never had a lack of food and the food has always been fantastic. I've never eaten anything there that I wasn't thrilled with. So, if you're in a rush you might want to go some where else to eat, BUT if you want some great North Carolina BBQ and don't care if dinner/lunch takes an hour stop by Levis. You won't be disappointed. more
