A must eat place 5/25/2005

This resturant is great!!! Not ony is the food amazing the place has a lot of history! The current owner's family were one of the first African American, female business owners in the valley. A long tradition of great food and service! The staff is not large and either is the resturant so be patient and give them some slack. Don't be discouraged by the other reviews, this place is great! TERRIBLE SERVICE 8/27/2004

I found out about this place through a friend and I was impressed with the food but not with the service and the place. But since I like the food, I decided to try it again. However, when I came back with my hungry family (after a long drive), the place was packed with birthday party. Since I know that the place is small, and there were a couple of tables left, we decided to wait for an attendant to guide us. But nobody came to us. I was frustrated and embarrassed to my family. I mentioned this incident to my friend who recommended the place and apparently, he experienced the same thing. There was a birthday party and my friend came with out-of-towners. So, imagine how embarrassed he was. Despite having good food but sooo terrible service, it is not worth a long drive to go to this place. Pros: food, decor, theme Cons: , small space, parking more

This southern kitchen is definitely worth the drive to Chatsworth. You get a whole lotta food for the price. The buttermilk and sweet potato pie will make your mouth water. The food is served fresh, so just sit back and relax because it is worth the wait! The history of how the restaurant began is charming, as is the owner, Kevin. BEST SOUTHERN FOOD IN LA 6/21/2003

i have driven 60 and know people that have driven 90 miles out of their way to have lunch at this small hole in the wall.... ask for the jumbolaya and if you like it hot ask for thermonuclear and the shaker.............the back o fyour head will sweat after u dig in......... yes its crowded - but ther is a REASON for that....great and i mean GRRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAATTTT food im getting hungry just thinking about it Pros: friendly staff, inexspensive Cons: turn on the ac more, crowded-very, needs to expand! more
