Leo Thomas Salon & Spa

I went to leo thomas salon yesterday 1/29/2012 and i had holly as my hair stylist she did a wonderful job i am extremely happy with the out come. i have went to other salons and would never get the friendliness and comfort that you do at this salon. they make you feel right at home. i got a cut and highlights and i'm very satisfied with the work she did i also went with my best friend and she as well got a cut and highlight. we did this for a rare girls day and it turned in to a great day. we told holly we would be back for sure and i am even going to be having a princess party of 3 in the coming months and when feb comes around i plan on taking my sister from new your and mother there as well so they call all see this salon and spa that i have been raving about. there is absolutly no way to not love them before and after going. you have my solid promise if you go there you wont be dissapointed by the price or the quality of service. :D :D :D more

This salon is the best for customer service and there is something very comfortable and friendly about the atmosphere in this place. The owner, is an exceptionally talented stylist who takes pride in her work and insures that her staff also adheres to this vision. I have never been disappointed with any haircut and color I have every had from her or from the other stylists who work there. I highly recommend this salon to anyone who loves quality work for a quality price. It is a hidden gem within the Rapid City area. Just be sure to get in early since their schedules fill up quickly. There is also other services that I would love to try in here in the near future. I understand they also do bridal hair. more

I too have been going to Leo Thomas Salon since it's inception and would recommend this salon to anyone who values a top notch salon with great prices. Anyone who would disagree with this has some other alternative motive. Holly is an exceptional stylist with exceptional prices...bar none. I have lived in this town for thirty years and it took me twenty four years to find a salon in town that meets my very picky criteria. She is very dedicated to her work and has great passion for her art. Anyone that disagrees with this is just bitter and cannot be pleased. more

I have been going to the Leo Thomas Salon since Holly opened 6 years ago, I love the enthusiasm she radiates. She treats me like an old friend, she is professional, but fun. The prices are great, but the atmosphere is even better. more

I am a retired cosmetologist, but I write this review as their first-time customer. I was pretty nervous about the service that I was calling about. Tattooing eyeliner sounded barbaric, but I really wanted it done. Mandie chatted with me about anything and everything I knew and didn't know about the procedure. Between the 2 calls, I would say that she spent 45 minutes with me. I was ready and excited. The day of my appointment, the first person I met was Holly. OMG...what a breath of fresh air. I, honestly, never felt so very welcome when entering a salon. I asked if I could snoop around before my appointment (I was quite early), and she let me snoop snoop snoop--without her hanging over my shoulder trying to sell me something, or worse yet, thinking that I might steal something. I was so surprised how clean the place was. I know that that isn't easy. She mentioned to me, through a totally different conversation, that Mandie was in the previous night, setting up for my appointment. WOW !! My appointment time came and Mandie (too beautiful and NICE to be human) made me feel, not only welcome, but excited that I was there...during the entire appointment. Her work is so personable that it blew me away. I fell in love with my eyeliner and can't wait until I get my lips done; and lucky for me, my hair is needing a little attention, too. Thankfully, their prices are affordable and reasonable. I never understood what people meant when they said "go TREAT yourself to a salon service". I HATED GOING INTO A SALON. Now I know what they mean. So, as a client, I am extremely happy; and as a Cosmetologist, I am very impressed, and that's not easy to do with me. more

I have been treated great every time I go to Leo Thomas Salon the owner always goes out of her way to make me feel like one the the family. I buy all my products there. My sister comes all the way from Denver just to have Holly do her hair LTS prices can't be bet. Last month my sister in law came here from Billings Mt. just to have Holly do her hair also and buy product from LTS. My family could not be happier. more

I have opened this Salon that has provided quality service in Rapid going into 6 years now. This Salon is home to Independent operators who work individually and at times together. We do have to do some pretty tricky scheduling for Spa parties. Re: March 20 th review. There 'was some miscommunication' and I feel terrible that happened and that it sounds 'so terrible' this Salon is like my child and I feel attacked and it is certainly 'no joke'. We have had some awesome success and been able to do some great parties delivering 'alot more for the money'. I dont expect my competition has mentioned has berrated me. My Salon is small we can only handle paries of 4 or less, princess parties we can do up to 7 comfortably. I relay alot of business to the other bigger spas often and remain professional as my theory in business is Beauty is; as Beauty does . This particular review is a myiriad of innacurate information. I believe we had 'no confirmation' for this party and the way she describes my words and conduct are far fetched and a little obvious is her spite. The Salon is in an Historical house and I have been dilligent on trying to take care of it, it is my Honor. I challenge all to come and see for yourself and The lesson to be learned is Confirm such 'important plans' so as to not have any miscommunication. This place is a joke!!!! I would not recommend any one going there. As a surprise for my sister in laws 30th birthday I decided to schedule her a spa party at Leo Thomas. I should have known from the beginning that it was going to be a disaster. I called 3 weeks in advance to book our appointments for massage, facials and mani/pedi's. I spoke with Holly and told her that I was planning this surprise for my sister in laws birthday. Holly said her "girl" would call me back to schedule. 5 days went by and this girl never called me so I had to call back and tell them I was waiting for some one to schedule my appointments. Holly gave me a lame excuse that she was sorry they hadn't gotten back to me yet and that there were some other people who were trying to schedule that day to and that again her "girl" would call me back. She did finally call me back that afternoon and gave me the excuse that she couldn't get a hold of the massage therapist to see if she was available that day. I said that was fine and if they couldn't get a hold of her we would just all do facials instead. She put me in the schedule and that was the last I heard from them. The day of the appointments came and we drove all the way from an hour away to Rapid City to make our 9 am appointments. My friend got there before us and went in to check us in and the place was dark. There was Holly sitting in the front and one other lady doing some one's hair. Which seemed very odd seeing as Holly told me before that the reason they hadn’t called me back to make our appointments was because there were a bunch of people trying to get in that day. We were expecting the place to be packed. My friend told her we were there for our spa appointments and Holly so rudely tells us that they cancelled our appointments. Holly said that her "girl" (again with the girl thing) left me a message on my cell phone the previous week to call and confirm our spa appointments and I didn't return there call. That was a bold face LIE! They never called me and they never left a message. Holly even had the nerve to say, “I heard my girl leave her a message to call us back." If I had received this message I would have defiantly called them back! As I said before I planned this for weeks in advance and drove all the way to Rapid on the day of our appointments. Holly and her “girl” do not behave or conduct the business in a professional manner. She lied about calling us and left us scrambling to make plans for the day. She even rudely suggested some other places we could go for the day. No one could take us at other spas because it was a Saturday. Everyone we spoke to at other spas had nothing nice to say about Leo Thomas Salon and they were appalled at the way were treated there. Thank God for Paris Nails in the mall. They were very understanding and were able to get us all in at the same time. Save yourself time and energy and go else where for you Salon and spa needs. I wouldn't recommend this place to any one. And just so everyone knows the place looks nothing like it does on there website. You pull up and see a nasty parking lot with an old limo sitting in the front and a run down building. I told her I would tell everyone I know about how badly we were treated and I am following through on that! If you want your plans to be cancelled with out notification and to be treated badly then I would recommend this place. more
