I must agree with the other reviews. Very good food, service and ambiance is really nice to spend an afternoon with your girlfriend. The very best exhibits grace these doors and the food is just a dessert to all that candy. I visited this place about 8 visits so far this year and really never a negative experience. Highly recommended! more

For those who love art... 6/6/2006

I went to the Legion of Honor today. I had the day off, and I felt like doing something that would make me feel cultured. I had been to the museum before, but it was a long time ago, so I didn't remember much about it. Wow, was I impressed. Some of the older stuff doesn't appeal to me so much, but there were some really amazing paintings. My favorite was a huge painting of the Great Flood: it was just this immense stretch of ocean with the sunset lighting up the whole sky. more

legion of honor 3/20/2006

long overdue to go back again. the legion of honor which sits on the hill offers great views. but in addition to that is the architectural beauty of the museum itself with the big columns and roman design. okay, so what about the exhibits? GREAT exhibits with special exhibits throughout the year for the frequent visitors. and finally, plenty of dining choices nearby if you don't want to dine at the museum eatery. more

Legion of Honor 3/10/2006

The Legion of Honor is my favorite museum in San Francisco. The museum is a very peaceful place and the art exhibits here are wonderful. The location can’t be beat and the view is gorgeous. The Legion of Honor is a great place for a wedding. The staff here is very knowledgeable about the art and history. The cafe here is delicious and not that expensive either. more

what a view, this is a beautiful art museum and overlooks some of the most beautiful views in San Francisco. they have a great cafe here to eat at, too, so you don't have to go far. as you walk in you go past these huge pillars that make you feel unbelievably small and powerful at the same time, I love it! more
