Comfortable Elegance 8/4/2006

OK, there are some credible 4 star restaurants downtown but these days I am not on anyone's expense account so my perspective has changed. Tasty, well-thought our food for humans in a pleasant environment. Good food prepared in the French style. I have had more fun grabbing a seat at the bar or one of the tables in that area. Oysters served up nicely... a sliced lamb sandwich with roasted peppers- out of this world.... and I think i have mentioned it before - the best hamburger in town. more

Ditto ("nothing special") 4/15/2006

I have gone to this restaurant twice and have been unimpressed. The first time my iced tea literally tasted like it had cough syrup in it, while my husband's tasted fine. I had pork tenderloin which was overcooked. I remembered the dessert as being good so I went back, but the food was just as bad as the first time and the dessert was bad too. I won't bother going again or recommending it. more

Nothing Special 7/5/2004

The San Mateo version of a Marin favorite. French bistro food. And while I thought it was good, I certainly wasn't blown away. And in my opinion, a little pricey for what you get. So while I was happy to go there on my Dad's dime, it wouldn't be a place I'd likely return to on my own. more
