Not worth it! 9/6/2010

Our family of 4 ate at Le Peep on Labor day. We spent $60.00 for a very so-so meal. 35 minutes after placing our order, we asked the waitress where our food was. Several tables that were seated after us had been served. The waitress went into the kitchen and returned with meals for another table (also seated about 10 minutes After us). When she finally returned with our meals, they were all cold. Obviously our plates were waiting on our inept waitress! We won't be back - $60.00 for cold food is ridiculous! more

Not worth the drive 9/13/2008

We drove from East Nashville to Belle Meade which in distance is not far, but for bad breakfast it is. There are plenty of restaurants between our home and Le Peep that are better. I would even wait 30 minutes in line rather than drive 30 minutes to eat there. I remember liking the one on Elliston before it closed. Our server was not rude, but he wasn't very warm or attentive either. I remember the coffee and juice to be of higher quality at the one on Elliston also. The coffee was weak and the juice tasted like it was concentrate with extra water. I ordered the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce tasted either instant or like it was from a can. It had that gritty Campbells soup flavor. I also had the grits which were a little dry from sitting in a steam table but were edible after adding butter and salt. The omelet my husband had was slightly better only because it did not have very much hollandaise on it. Breakfast was $40 with the tip and I could not help but wish I would have spent my $40 at Marche or Noshville the whole ride home. Cons: food quality to price more

avoid le peep - unless you want to be anoyed 9/29/2007

decent food - over rated - $30 for breakfast for 2 and the management could care less that we came - the waitress was ok - but the check out - if she could pry herself off a personal phone call to take my money - i am sorry i bothered you - you should not work in customer service - maybe cell phone technique might be a career - Loveless Cafe - much better same money - no attitude! stay away from Le Peep. Pros: nice menu Cons: terrible management - could care less that we were there- employees using cell more

Awful service! 6/26/2007

We went to Le Peep on a Sunday morning for breakfast. The wait wasn't long, but the hostess didn't say one word to us, just walked us to a table in the crowded, noisy dining room, plunked down our menus, and walked off. We sat there for about 20 minutes or so without any service at all. This being said, there were literally waiters standing around at another table, doing nothing and completely ignoring us. I also saw the water guy randomly leaving water at tables where people had been seated long after us. After about 30 minutes (and still no service), we got up and left. So, unfortunately, I can't speak for the quality of the food (although, judging by the other reviews here, it's not that great). Pros: Parking Cons: Snobby waitstaff, poor service overall more

Avoid 6/6/2007

Ok let me start off by saying my son and I use to come here all the time. So much so that they knew us by name. But then things changed. They had a new sign up that said, ""Your well behaved children are always welcome"". Now my child may be a kid but he knows how to sit and not talk loud and eat nicely in resturants. Well we were seated and everything seemed ok. The next week however was not overly busy. We were the next in line and waited to be seated and sat right by the host/hostess stand. A table was being cleared so I figured we would be called next seeing as we were the only ones waiting. Well this could comes in and walks right up to the stand and asks for a table for two .. the host takes one look around and says right this way and takes them to what should have been our table. I am a little upset at this moment. So when he returns I ask him nicely why the couple was seated before us and he looks down at his sheet of names repeats my last name and says I am next. I ask him again why he seated that couple before me did they have resvervations .. he respnds with no, I didn't see you so I sat them. How in the world could he miss me when I'm sitting right under hs nose? I suppose if he didn't have to stuck up in the air he might have seen me. It took all my power not to bop the man. I have never been so snubbed in my whole life. If my son wasn't so hungry I would have caused a major scene and walked out. The next table wasn't ready for another 15 mins. I would have said all was good if I had been treated with some respect. But I wasn't so saddly my son and I have not gone back to this place that had his fav cheesy potatoes. --- To add the food is pricey and greasy. You can find some lighter things but the snobbier at this place is just too much for me. more

Nice decor but greasy food and unfriendly hostesses 5/13/2007

I have posted my review and somehow Citysearch erased it. Here is a recap: Pros: location, decor, menu selection (although greasy) Cons: service, unfriendly hostesses, lack of healthier menu options more

nothing special. 10/2/2006

we tried le peep this past sunday, got there at maybe 7:45. the waitress was rude, after waiting twenty minutes for her to take our order. she made it seemed like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us, nevermind it was her job. my food wasn't prepared correclty (the eggs were basted and not scrambled) but somehow that was my fault for not eating the eggs because its ""all the same"". the potatoes are too salty. i enjoy using green pepper sauce and tobasco, but they had filled them with far too much vinegar. the prices were very reasonable, but i doubt we'd try it again. Pros: open early (7 am), reasonable prices Cons: food, service. more

Go after you have eaten somewhere else 2/16/2006

I went to Le Peep for the first time for brunch, we waited about 1 hour and 30 min. there was nothing open at this time, and finally sat down it took another 20 mins to get a cup of joe. The service stinks they are all zombies. I went back later to have a cocktail with some friends and the scene is much better, great place to have a toast rather than eat some toast. Management great! Service not so great. I am not saying that all severs there are but I can only seek from my two experiences. Pros: atmosphere, drinks, (how can that be bad) Cons: service, food more

Wear ear plugs and love potatos 9/14/2004

Potatos, potatos and more potatos! Le Peep cannot seem to plate a meal without piling on the potatos. The only thing more in evidence during our visit was an abundance of loud, obnoxious children. The experience was perfectly awful. Pros: opens at 7 am, serves liquor, attractive ambiance Cons: , poor accoustics, too many children more

Great Time! 6/24/2004

We went to Le Peep for the first time on June 20, a busy Sunday. The young hostess was friendly but businesslike. After a 10 minute wait we were seated and promptly received a carafe of ice water. Coffee arrived soon after. Soon is relative, because of the packed dining room. The food was good and filling. Most people seemed to be having a good time. We did. We'll be back soon. Pros: lots of tables, portion size, nice atmosphere Cons: , some rude customers, understaffed more

Fun, Diverse and Tasty 12/15/2003

We first visited Le Peep on a Wednesday and found it only moderately busy. We were seated immediately and enjoyed a HUGE meal and some really nice jazz. The check for three came to $22 and change. We returned on Sunday and found the restaurant packed and at least 20 people waiting for tables. The 20 minute wait was worth it. The service was a bit slower but the food was just as good. Check for three with a round of mimosas came to $34. Good food, few screaming kids, cross section of people. We like it! Pros: Decor, Food, Parking Cons: Very busy weekends, A bit pricey more

Absolutely Awful! 3/1/2003

My wife and I went there for breakfast recently and the wait was 45 minutes. Seated 20 minutes the waitress brought us water. She couldn't stick around long enough for us to order. 20 minutes after water she took our order. 45 minutes later we got our food...mine wasn't what I ordered...my wife's was cold. 25 minutes later still no food...we left. Called the manager the next day...he could have cared less...enough said! Cons: Very noisy, Food is marginal, Bad management more

strip mall dining 1/20/2003

Dining in a strip mall - nuff said. I am not sure it is possible to create the ambiance of a french cafe in a strip mall but you have to give them points for trying. What is really lacking however is the food and service for such an overpriced experience. Cons: stripp mall, bad food, bad service more

Munch a Brunch 7/23/2002

I enjoy going to Sunday brunch at Le Peep. They have a good selection of everyday breakfast food as well as some intruiging dishes. The Eggs Benedict and the Omelets are wonderful. They also have a wide variety of coffee and smoothie selections that are great. Sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but it is well worth it. more
