My first visit to Luxe Den was impressive to say the least. Perhaps what impressed me most about my color and cut is that I did not have to spend half of my paycheck to get my hair done like a lot of the other salons in the city. Since I had no idea who to select for my stylist, when I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was extremely helpful in helping me select someone to suit my needs. I am not afraid to take chances with my hair, and my stylist took care of my hair and it came out beautiful when I was finished. They did a great job! more

I never had a professional massage in my life, and my best friend thought the time had come at last. She bought me a gift certificate to Luxe Denand we decided to have a girls day at the spa. Once I walked in the door, I was impressed by the d?cor and lighting of the facility, which was bright and inviting. I was nervous about my massage, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. I was referred to Luxe Den by a girlfriend of mine and absolutely loved it! I waited for my hair stylist while sipping on a glass of wine. He was very easy to talk to, LISTENED to what I wanted (I brought in a picture) and kept me entertained while my color sat. He also took his time. Even though I was one of the last appointments of the day, he maintained quality in his work and didn't rush through the color and cut. I was the last person in the salon and left completely ecstatic with BEAUTIFUL blonde highlights and a trendy, blunt cut (think Reece Witherspoon). In addition, the receptionist was extremely helpful and suggested a strong conditioning Aveda treatment that I LOVE. I will certainly return! Highly recommended! more

I came here because it is close to my apartment and had good reviews online. I have had very bad luck with coloring at salons in the past. My hairdresser was Mariana. I told her that I wanted to go back to the color of my roots (which were lighter then the color of my last dye job) and take all of the brassiness that was in my hair from my last faded dye job. After all was said and done, the color wasnt that much lighter, but pretty much allll of the brassiness was gone!!!!!!!! I was very impressed. Compared to my last coloring job, the results that Mariana was able to provide were fantastic. As for the cut : She definetly listened to what I wanted...and WAS NOT scissor happy. Lots of hairdressers say they are going to do one thing and then do what they want to do, telling you it will be better. Mariana definetly understood that cutting hair is about what the customer wants...not what the hairdresser wants!! I am always scared to get bangs.......the last person (at a world class salon) butchered them. I let them grow all the way and was just now getting bangs again for the first time in a year. Mariana helped me decide how deep the bangs should be and where we should part the hair. She cut it exactly like the picture....and once again....was not scissor happy..chopping up my bangs to within an inch of my forehead (like my last salon disaster). They were the perfect length by the time she was done! I have never been so happy with bangs before! And.....she always asked for my imput to make sure I liked what she was doing. I have been looking for a salon to become a regular at, and I think I've finally found the place! The girl who does the shampoos was super sweet and considerate. I will definetly go back to Mariana to get my trim! (and maybe even some highlights!) Pros: good prices, cut and clolor more

I needed a brazilian wax (BAD) it had been 2 months! I went to Luxe Denafter a bit of research on places around my office. Not only was Barno fantastic, nice, professional, but the chocolate wax perfumed the room; and although brazilians are always painful, the wax worked really well with my thick, coarse hair(compared to hard wax, that you have to go over the same spot to get all the hair, the chocolate wax grabbed it all with one application); so it was quick. AND it was only $40!! My only gripe: you can't tip on credit card, so bring cash. The appointment took 20 minutes (in comparison to an hour w/hard wax); everyone was nice, and the price was RIGHT. I will go here again...next time a little sooner than 2 months! Pros: AMAZING brazilian wax! Cons: No tip on card more

I've been a customer at Luxe Den for over a year now.... I can't begin to tell you the level of satisfaction I receive when I schedule an appointment. They are extremely accommodating and very polite... My monthly services usually include Brazilian and leg waxing..... Thanks to Barno, I wouldn?t want to go anywhere else. I've been living in midtown manhattan for about 2 yrs (coming from tennessee) and Luxe was the first salon i went to in nyc. I was pretty ner vous thinking that the prices would be astronomical and the service might be snotty...boy was i wrong!!!! From my first time there, I knew I would never go anywhere else as it was such a lovely experience. Everyone was so nice and accommodating and even though it is a top salon, the atmosphere was super chill. Most importantly, though, was the flawless color job they did with my hair!! I am very fussy about the color b/c i love my hair RED and very few people over the years have been able to get it just right!! Well, ive been to several color experts at Luxe and they all get it perfectly beautiful and red!! In fact, every time i leave the salon, i have about 6 vpeople ask me where i got my hair done!!! LUXE DEN!!!!!! even if i were to move up to the heights, ill make the trip to Luxe b/c they are the best!! Pros: Expert colorists,excellent service, always lovely experience more

I love Luxe Den, everyone there is so friendly and the stylists are excellent with hair cuts! However, I don't suggest going there for color, it never comes out the way I ask for and washes out in one wash. Save your money and go somewhere else if you want color done. It is a fabulous salon with a fantastic atmosphere and definately the most beutiful salon that I have ever been to. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this salon, as well as their friendly, outgoing staff. My experience at LUXE DEN was absolutely wonderful!! I have thick, curly hair, which is for many hair stylist's is very difficult, but they were knowledgable about my hair needs and they gave me a complimentary hair treatment, seeing that my hair is very dry. They were also very helpful in recommending the best products to suit my curly hair. Thank you so much! more
