First off, ignore bad reviews on Lawry's. People who don't like stuffy dining or spending more than $20 on a meal shouldn't go to big event restaurants like this. This is the most popular ""special occasion"" spot in all of L.A. But Forget all that. I first went to Lawry's at age 7. Since then, I've known what perfect Prime Rib should taste like. 30 years and hundreds of Prime Rib plates later, no one has ever approached Lawry's quality. Prime Rib anywhere else is always such a huge disappointment. If you don't like the Prime Rib here, you just don't get it. Lawry's is phenomenally crowded on weekends and holidays. Get a reservation and you almost never wait more than 15 minutes. They have a fantastic bar and lounge to wait in anyway. Grab a cocktail and prepare for serious Prime Rib experience. Pros: Best Prime Rib in USA, Hardcore Event Dining, Old School Kitsch Cons: Always a Wait, Get a Reservation, Dummy more

I like this place but it's a little too dim.. I guess it's for a more romantic setting. I think I even saw a celebrity here!! Pros: valet parking, beautiful atmosphere more

Meet Meat 7/29/2002

Everytime I am in LA, I always eat at Lawry's. They have incredible horseradish, they have a mild and a strong. It makes my eyes water just thinking about it. Yumm It's incredible that some of their wait staff has been there over 30 years. That says a lot about the place. Pros: great food, see stars, easy valet parking Cons: need reservations more

Ultimate Prime Rib 7/3/2002

Three words...'Ultimate Prime Rib.' This place has the best, the most tender and juicy prime rib I have ever had. They bring a whole cart (each cart costs $40000) of prime ribs and cut them right in front of your table. It's expensive but definitely worth spending $$ for an ultimate prime rib experience. more

Speacial occasion? This is the place to come. You should put in a reservation though because it's so popular that the wait seems to take forever and ever. But once your in and ready to eat.. it is all worth it! They have this neat little cart that has all the food right there! You dont even have to wait! It is such amazing food that im getting hungry just talking about it! see ya there!! more

Excellent upscale and first class place. Great service. Fun place for two or the whole family. Good place for special occasions. Football players playing in the Rose Bowl dine here before the big game. This is a place you want to come in hungry. Big servings and everthing is fresh. If you take a $100 you can have dinner and drinks for two with some change. more

If I had to describe the restaurant in one word it would be Professional. I truly suggest making a reservation and not leaving without trying their fresh cream corn it is to die for.
