OK LIKE WHAT THE HELL, LABOR DAY WAS MAS CAMP NIGHT SUN SEPT 3RD WELL THE PRICE WAS FREE B4 MIDNITE FOR LADIES OH BUT YOU STAND ON LINE FOR 1 HOUR THUS YOU ARE THERE TO PAY THE PRICE OF 20. THE CLUB ON SUN WAS SNEAKER WEARING/HALF DOWN LOW MEN WITH PANTS HANGINGOFF THEIR ASSES AND YOUNG GIRLS THAT IF IT WAS MY DAUGHTER ID GET MY SWITCH. HALF DRESSED AND DISRESPECTED. THE MUSIC WAS AMATURE DJ (MY 7 YR OLD COULD HAVE DONE BETTER( UP THE STAGE MIXED PURE MESS. OH THEY PLAYED HIP HOP ALL NIGHT( I MEAN MASS CAMP MEANS REGGAE OR SOCA, NOT MESSED UP SOCA FOR 14 MINUTES AND CRAPPY REGGAE. I HATE SEEING MEN IN SNEAKERS AT A CLUB AS LATIN QUARTERS, MY COMPANY HOST THEIR HOLDIAY PARTY THERE, I AM APPAULED. I STAYED FOR 20 MIN AND WE LEFT. I REMEMBER LATIN QUARTERS AS FUN NOW I REMEMBER IT AS A PLACE FOR BAGGY PANTS WEARING BUMS AND YOUNG CHICKEN HEADS LOOKING FOR THOSE BUMS TO RIDE THEIR BUTS WITHOUT EVEN ASKING THEM IF THEY WANT A DRINK OF WATER. In planning a friend's birthday party @ LQ I ran into some negative reviews on this site - I thought to myself maybe some of the prior reviewers (i.e. bluehen000 review) were the exception to the rule and LQ had maintained its respect for its Latino crowd. I was SO WRONG...the reviewers were absolutely RIGHT!! I had a terrible experience with the bouncers (if you can call 100lb barely legal kids bouncers). The front personal were rude specifically in not honoring emailed flyers from their promoters nor a birthday guest list previously arranged directly with LQ. When I asked to speak to a manager a ""wanna be"" tough guy with much attitude wanted to know ""WHY"" first? When I finally gave a good enough reason to speak to the manager - I was introduced with a polite professional man that arranged for a table for the evening with his apologizes. We had a great time on the dance floor I must admit and the manager (Chris) did do right by us - BUT unfortunately the old saying still holds true...FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT!!! This place is not cool. Fat girls swear their hot and in actuality they can't dance and spill odorous sweat on the floor. I mean you pay $25 to get in and the girls are about 3's and 4's (10 scale). Maybe not even. The music is ok, but the DJ's could be better. A stronger mix of hip-hop with the reggaeton would help out. And finally, the bouncers need to chill out. LQ is not a hot club. Its not a celebrity hotspot. It's not Marquee, Pink Elephant, or Cain. And it's definitely not like the South Beach clubs Mansion and Opium. So ease up bouncer dude, because no one cool is waiting on line or in your wack club. more

I dont know where to begin. I really try to like this place, I really do, but i just cant! If you dig overweight chicks with attitudes this is the place for you. If you drive an escalade with spinners and still live with your moms in a one bedroom in the Heights this is the place for you. IMHO Copa is WAYY BETTER!!! What an awesome place, I went last Friday for their after work party, LQ's is definitly off the hook. The music is great, I heard everything I wanted to hear without requesting it. Dance floor big, the bartenders very nice. We had such a great time.... more

I expect the line bouncers to be courteous enuff to stay up front that the club's male to female ratio is messed up and that they are not letting in any more guys for the night or for a long time. LQ has developed the habit of letting guys stand outside for extremely long periods of time, while they allow females in at a discount price. At least give the guys that stood outside for an hour or so while you adjusted your male to female ratio a discount too. LQ would ratehr let them stand outside, which looks good for them cause it always looks like people are dying to get in and they have a line all night long, but it is a lie. To make a long story short, don't go there in anything less than dark shoes. If its on the borderline of being a shoe/sneaker, chances are the bouncers will try to shake you for 20 dollars. We went to this place two weeks ago on a Saturday night and it WAS GREAT! We have been looking for a new club all together as a group; since our favorite club that catered to 30+ (year olds) ""Decade"" closed down. THIS IS IT! If you miss getting dressed up and partying with a sophisticated crowd of your peers at a stylish and hot nightclub, the party is here. They have a VIP room/dance floor down stairs and a additional dance floor upstairs. We found out about it through ""things to do"" on Evite.com and were put on a complimentary guest list by:asands@nyc.rr.com. There was even a complimentary Grey Goose vodka bar the night we were there! No hip hop baggy pants wearing people. A GOOD TIME IS HAD BY ALL 30+! I remember going 2the old LQ &always having a great time. We had such a hard time getting into the club this past weekend. When we got to the front door they asked under what promoter name we were. Never in my NYC clubbing life have I given a promoter name-you just say what guest list you are on. Despite talking 2the manager, we still had to pay full price. The girl at the front door&cashier had the worst attitudes-like they were better than you because they work at LQ's. PLEASE! Atmosphere is typical of any latin club. Dance floor is decent size&didn't seem to be overcrowded at any point. Vip/dinner areas are roomy enough for a private party to chill&dance without having to go onto the dance floor.
