    Raymond Larsen, pharmacist, owner and manager of Larsen Mayer Pharmacy was born and raised in Kenosha. Ray graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in 1973. Ray is deeply involved in his parish church, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, and has been a member of the Kiwanis Breakfast Club since 1974.

    Mayer Drug Co. was founded by Harry F. Mayer Sr. in 1914. The store was located on the corner of 56th Street and Sixth Avenue downtown, managed by father and son - Harry F. Mayer Sr. and Harry F. Mayer Jr. Ray interned from 1971-73 under Mayer Jr. After becoming board certified on Jan. 9, 1974, Ray joined the staff as a registered pharmacist.

    In 1982, Ray and Mayer Jr. negotiated a purchase agreement for the pharmacy. In 1992, Larsen Mayer Pharmacy moved to the Lakeshore Building adjacent to St. Catherine's hospital. In October of 2000, the store moved to its current location - Suite 103 in the Gateway Medical Building West across from Gateway Technical College.. Larsen Mayer Pharmacy takes most discount plans. Our philosophy is simple: Prescription drugs are expensive. If we can find a program that allows you to be able to afford your prescriptions,you can get them all filled. Taken according to directions,medications can help you stay out of more costly alternatives like hospitals or nursing homes.
