I went there the day after Thanksgiving. It was all good till the steak. We order the rib eye and the dry age rib eye. One was order medium and the other medium rare. The both came and they look the same, couldn't tell the difference between the usda and the dry age. One came well done( the one that's supposed to be medium) and the other medium(the one the supposed to be medium rare), we sent back the well done and it came back medium rare. The medium steak was tough. If you paying that kind of money they should know how to cook steak, it is a steak house after all. You better off at Morton Steak house since they would never over cook a steak. more

Amazing food and service! 11/1/2006

Though I agree that it's kinda weird to be located in a mall, once you walk inside, the mall completely disappears. Everything about my dinner was amazing. The waiter was very attentive and funny and the managers came over to our table to introduce themselves to see if we needed anything. Good stuff. The food was awesome. I had the gazpacho gelee, which melts in your mouth...and paired with the mt. tam little grilled cheese sandwiches...so good. We tried a couple of different salads that were great, and then the steak. WOW. The garlic butter sauce was fantastic, the filet was perfect...then came the desserts. I've always loved the butterscotch pudding at the Lark Creek restaurants, so I chose the pudding and we also chose a lime meringue tart thingy. Both were fabulous. I HIGHLY recommend Lark Creek Steak. YUM. Pros: food, service, atmosphere Cons: in a mall, but at least there's a lot of parking! more

Naysayers are jealous - this place is a haven 11/1/2006

All these bad reviews are ridiculous! Obviously written by other restaurants that can't compete. Have you even been in the restaurant? It's not "trendy too cool" - it's classy and relaxed. Nobody that I've encountered in the 3 times I've been there was rude or had an ego. You have to at least recognize the fact that the restaurant is only one month old - EVERY restaurant evolves and changes, especially at the beginning. For being so young, they do an amazing job. The food is great and there are some definite standouts, such as the pan-seared skate, tomato gelee (very silky, not like jello), foie gras, the pate and the NY strip. Collard greens are also awesome - not soggy or bland. I'm not usually a dessert-at-a-steakhouse person, but they definitely have some great things on the menu here, too. Loved the concord grape cheesecake and the butterscotch pudding. The whole place feels much more inviting that some of the other steakhouses in town - not all that manly-man wood nonsense. Give it a chance - it's downhome good food and is a respite from retail burnout. Pros: great bar area, warm & inviting environment, great classic and new dishes Cons: parking, but I think they validate more

We had steaks here. And I must admit Outback was better! These reviews are definitely from Management. The food was so-so. Service was lacking big time. We waited forever for every request. When we asked for some sour cream the waiter gave me a look like I was going to eat a baby. Bottom line is I'm paying for the food and I'll eat whatever I want, the way I like it! He got it after I had one bite left. Our water was never refilled and we had to ask for everything. I was very angry. I almost walked out on the bill. That's how mad I was at paying for this lousy experience. I'm so tired of trendy too cool restaurants. Wake up people and get over yourself. You are not reinventing the wheel. So tone down the ego and give us some value for our bucks. Pros: location Cons: service, food, value more

Ok, enough reviews from the management: here's the deal -- avoid this place 10/28/2006

The steaks are bland and mediocre and the salads and sides are often worthy of being sent back. The steaks come with a choice of sides (none that we tried were any good except for the horseradish). The steak itself was simply boring -- no real flavor like a steak you would get at Harris, Morton's, etc. The salads are all a bit strange and the Cesare has a bland dressing that had too much vinigar in our visit. We were not impressed and cannot recommend the place. Pros: Convenient if you also need to buy underwear Cons: Just not the same as Larspur or any serious steak house more

Outstanding Steak House! 10/26/2006

I recently went to dinner at Lark Creek Steak and absolutely LOVED IT! From the second I reached the host stand the staff and managment was very attentive, welcoming and friendly! I highly recommend going straight for the beef steaks, our bone-in ribeye and filet mignon were cooked to perfection! And you get a choice of steak sauces, my favorites were the hollondaise and horse radish cream. Not to be missed as well are the side dishes, collard greens, creamed spinach and the sauteed mushrooms were excellent! To finish it all off there is a huge selection of delicious desserts. If you are a lover of California wines Lark Creek Steak has some outstanding wines that are very difficult to come by. If you don't have time to have dinner you should at least stop in the bar and have a drink just to check it out! Pros: Service and Food more

A nice addition to Bradley Ogden's restaurants 10/23/2006

Great food and service. I also thought the prices were reasonable considering the quality and location. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. The menu offers a great selection of food choices. They also offer a prix fixe for under $30. Corkage was just $15 - less than many similar restaurants. A nice addition to Bradley Ogden's restaurants. Pros: food, service, quiet atmosphere more

Great new spot--more than just steaks 10/4/2006

Check this place out! It knocked my socks off and it has only been open about a week. We had fantastic prime steaks and everything else was great too. You know when you go to most steakhouses the steak is good and everything else, well, lacks? Not here. Great soup, amazing biscuit amuse bouche, vegetables fresh and cooked right, salad that wasn't cottony tomatoes and red onions (why the chain steakhouses think anyone wants to eat that is beyond me). Great wine list too. Get there before the masses find it! Pros: great steaks, fresh seafood, fresh veggies cooked right Cons: in a mall which was overrun, on the fourth floor, but this is an oasis more
