I have been going to this Shallotte Medical Center off and on for 7 years, initially seeing Dr. Pressley (no longer there), and now that Dr. Langston's Brother John, the P.A. is there, things are run at a snails pace. Just this past Friday, I only waited 10 minutes in the waiting room, which I thought was great, considering I had an appt. and was shown to a room to wait 45 MORE MINUTES, meanwhile I could hear John, the P.A. talking in the next room, just bs'ing from everything from weather to NASCAR, don't get me wrong, I know this is the norm with John, he's very down to earth, however it's a business, HELLO? Well today, another appt. scheduled for 3 p.m. and just 2 minutes before 4, the young lady at the counter slides open the window and says, I can take your co-pay now Mr...so and so...and I told her that won't be necessary, as I've now waited 2 minutes shy of my scheduled appt. time and my you're wanting my co-pay and i've not even seen the P.A. yet? I explained to her, while the office makes more money than me, my time is just as valuable. How would they like it if all of their appt''s just didn't show up at all and all they had to contend with was just the few walk-in patients.
There are way too many doc's in this area, and I have another one, located a few extra miles, but when I go to see Dr. Pressley, I wait at most 10 minutes, and then when in an exam. room, I might wait 10 minutes at most. I will NEVER set foot in Lee Langston's offices again. I am a patient and damnit, I and my time deserve to be treated with respect.
