Lunch was great! 5/26/2011

I came here for lunch today with some co-workers. We were lucky enough to sit by the windows and get some natural light. The food was delicious and came out quickly, even though the restaurant was busy. My suggestion? If you come for lunch and plan on getting a salad, get the small one. It's huge! more

Not what it should be 12/5/2009

Dinner at the bar - food was good; Ribeye, Nicsoise salad, steamed spinach. Excellent wine list. A few things that we found a bit weird if not annoying; 1. we were not able to substitute the french fries for roasted potatoes ( they are in the same family???) the bartender could not have been more inattentive and the restrooms was a Disaster - after spending $200 for two people one expects to have a clean restroom. You are located in the Time Warner Center, I think as a patron we deserve more. Pros: Steak Cons: Service & Bathroom more

Family dinner spot 10/24/2009

Went there for dinner last week. It seemed there were a ton of familys (kids) there and the menu catered to them a bit. I was there on a date with my girlfriend and didnt expect a family dinner spot. The place is beautiful and really a cool spot. The food was pretty good and I was happy with the meal. The waitstaff was not polished and felt a bit informal. Pros: Good food, wine list, & decor Cons: Too many kids, informal waitstaff more

Wonderful Dinner for 8 of Us 1/3/2009

Very good food and great view. We were in Ny for the weekend after thanksgiving and our friend recommended this resaturant and we were not disappointed. Would love to return here when we go to ny again. Pros: View and food Cons: alittle loud more

Great atmosphere, fresh beer and great wine- food is good too! 11/20/2008

I went to landmarc for sunday brunch the day of the NYC marathon. We got a table near the window, facing the trump(?) tower, close to the finish line. Service was very friendly but not formal. The atmosphere is nice but open & relaxed. We first sat by the bar to wait for our table and ordered a half bottle of wine which was excellent and a brooklyn lager which was extremely fresh. My sister ordered a burger and I ordered mussels- yum. I wasn't expecting much from a mall restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. Noise level was pretty tolerable. Pros: Good bar, service, food, relaxed but nice ambience Cons: if yr against eating in a mall restaurant i wouldnt go to landmarc columbus circ more

So Nice 10/30/2008

Had such a great time. Service was impeccable and the food was great. Waitstaff very knowledgeable. SO MUCH FUN more

Amazing Wine Selection, Great Customer Service 9/18/2008

Now I'll admit that I had foolishly developed a lack luster pre-conceived notion about Landmarc simply because of its location. I questioned ""How great can the atmosphere, food, & service be in a mall restaurant?"" Almost immediately upon entering everything I assumed was dissolved. This place is amazing! On a packed Saturday night I honestly thought they'd tell us it would be at least a 1 hour wait, but my boyfriend and I were seated before he even finished the sentence ""Dinner for two.""! Our waiter Jules was fantastic! He had really great suggestions on entree and wine pairings, and was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. He even provided a very interesting after dinner treat- Pina Colada cotton candy! The food is beyond yummy (try the rock shrimp risotto in lobster butter), and there is an extensive wine selection (Sancere, Pascal Jolivet is delish!). A return visit is definitely in order ! Pros: Great wine, Great service, Great food Cons: None that I can think of more

Yummy brunch 1/14/2008

I had brunch here and the food was delightful. The french toast was 5 inches high and the perfect texture and flavor. They even have cotton candy! Pros: Brunch is a terrific deal more

Rude Wait Staff! 12/13/2007

I can not even put into words how RUDE the wait staff is here! Both our waitress and bartender were out of line disrespectful and unhelpful. Oh, and both women were full of attitude and condescending remarks. I think if this restaurant is going to have a loyal following they need to start firing and re-hiring A.S.A.P. Maybe they should take note from the wonderful employees at The Mandarin Oriental right next door. Pros: Nice Location Cons: RUDE WAIT STAFF!!!!!! more

Don't Go There 12/10/2007

What a waste of a great location and space. The decor is good too. But if food and service are below average, then what's the point? I went to dinner a few weeks with my boyfriend. I ordered the risotto and he got a steak. Food was edible but not good by any means. I wanted to give it a second chance because we live so close by, and went this past Saturday for brunch. We just ordered eggs with toasts and potatoes, and it took them 25 minutes to get us the food. The waitress was so clueless and inattentive! She also charged us $8 for the fries that were listed for $6 on the menu, we hate making a fuss so we paid it, but thought it was ridiculous. Don't waste your time and money there, plenty of good restaurants around. Pros: Great location, nice space Cons: Bad food, bad service more

Best upscale take on a family neighborhood eatery 10/22/2007

As a private concierge I always recommend Landmarc at Columbus Circle to my clients. This restaurant is consistent in its level of service and tasty meals. My suggestion is always the daily pasta special or one of the late afternoon breakfast items. This is a friendly upscale take on a family neighborhood eatery. Families are not only welcome but encouraged. The atmosphere is a perfect match for any occasion from date night to family brunch. As you enjoy your meal you may see wisps of cotton candy or sugary ice-cream cones floating in the air encouraging the little kid inside to pop out. What better way to pay the bill and end a meal than with Landmarc?s own homemade caramels. The menu and wine prices are very reasonable. If you give this eatery a try I know it will become one of you ?go to? places! more

Totally Underwhelmed 10/22/2007

If I owned a restaurant, I would send my employees here to learn what NOT to do. Maybe I picked the wrong things to eat and had an exceptionally bad waiter. Who knows, but this falls in my bottom 10 dining experiences. Pros: Fast (though bad) Service Cons: Just About Everything more

wack service and food 10/19/2007

I love wine so i looked foward to landmarc. Oh boy what an amateur spot or server had no clue about the menu or wine list Pros: location Cons: food and service more

Reasonable food in an average setting 7/17/2007

I ate here for brunch last weekend and can't say anything bad about it, but then again, can't say there's anything exceptional about it either. I had the poached eggs cooked in wine which tasted okay but looked ghastly, if you're a visual person this dish should be skipped. My friends were pleased with their Benedict and Pancake meals. The space is pleasant with a nice view facing South, service was good. If you need a place to eat Landmarc's a fine choice just nothing special. Pros: Location more

Yuck! Don't Waste Your Cash 5/3/2007

Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful restaurant in one of the most beautiful locations. But I've never had an experience that I put the first bite of something into my mouth and it's horrendous! I ordered the Monkfish and literally could not take it. I tried to be polite among friends and have a few more bites - look pleased since it was not a celebration for me - but good lord! I couldn't! The monkfish was gamey (ordered med-well), and it was placed on a bed of broccoli rabe with chopped up potatoes and chorizo. The sauce was some sort of concoction that tasted like lemon, vineagar and what ever else you can think of that is super sour. It was - gross. And I can eat just about anything. They handled the replacement of the food well - and I ordered a pasta. The pasta was really plain and I could probably have done better at home. I was really shocked and disappointed. The service was sub-par as well. My friends told me that what looked like their most popular dish - Hangar Steak and Frites - was tough and hard to digest. No one seemed impressed. And when we asked the guy for suggestions on the menu he asked ""What would you like?"" Huh? Never again. And I work in this building! Pros: Ambiance, modern and lovely - Location is good Cons: Food, Service, and you can't find the bathroom too easily. more
