Best

We go there about once a year and that's about right for us. It's amazing to watch the roll-throwers, if that's what you would call them. And the rolls are really good! I could...

Worst

Lamberts is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY overrated. 30 years ago when they wre a small town diner, they were pretty good, but not great. But now you can expect to wait in line for a...

very good 6/18/2010

for the money it was'nt really higher then any other restaurant. the food was great and couldn't believe that if you ate all the food on your plate you could get more. we [4[ of us went and the wife of the couple couldn't eat the double pork chop meal . I and my wife will go again. If you can spare a couple extra dollars go there to eat, cause it is going to a steakhouse going home still wanting something to eat. The buns were hot along with everything else. Next time I'm going to get a steak, cause if I eat all of it I will get another one. more

Love those rolls at Lamberts 11/8/2006

Went only once so far, but I hope to go back again. My husband and I ate there and had a bit of a wait, but the food was well worth it. Like the mac with tomato sauce and everything else. more

Throwed Rolls! 7/4/2006

Along Interstate 55 in Sikeston, Mo is a unique restaurant named Lambert's Cafe. For a long time, I didn't even know that was the name of it-because it was always referred to by my in-laws (frequent visitors to the place) as "throwed rolls". Lambert's is a must for down home cookin' at it's best...and yes, the do throw the rolls. A tradition that started when during a busy time of day a customer wanting another roll yelled for the waiter to "just throw it"! I understand they now have 2 other locations, around Branson and in Foley, AL. Check this out-kids would love it! more

Alot of fun 4/5/2006

There is nothing better than Lambert's in Sikeston, Missouri. I have only been there once, 1993 on my way to Nashville, Tennessee. However, I still remember it. The food is served family style and you receive fried okra that is wonderful. If you want a roll, put your hands in the air, one will be flying your way. They have wonderful chicken fried steak. It is entertaining and very good food. more

You've Gotta Try It 4/2/2006

This is an awesome restaurant. Even if you only try it once, I think you'll like it. It's good home cooking. The portions are huge. The rolls are fresh, soft, warm and delicious. They are thrown to you, which is too funny. If you can't catch it, don't worry, they'll throw you another. They come by with huge bowls of fried potatoes and onions, fried okra, and sorghum molasses. It's nicely decorated in a rustic style. You usually have to wait, but it's worth it. Usually lunch times are better than evenings. Try it. more

GREAT FOOD, FABULOUS ATMOSPHERE 9/26/2005

This place is so much fun! They THROW the rolls across the dining room. The kids have fun, the parents have fun - you can't help but to have fun. The food is outstanding also. It's all about the food here. Don't order to much though because they bring around these huge bowls of different vegetables and potatoes and will just give you big ole servings of these if you want - for no charge. You won't find ANYTHING on this menu that isn't melt in your mouth fantastic! more

comfort food for a giant! 8/17/2005

Imagine if grandma were literally cooking for an army, and you get the idea of Lamberts. The food is fantastic, but there is a LOT of it. I've ordered roast beef and gotten a portion the size of roasts I cook at home to feed my whole family and have leftovers. This is on top of the "pass arounds" where servers bring big bowls around the dining room and dish out a helping of whatever sides you wish. And, of course you can't forget the throwed rolls. Which means fresh hot rolls get tossed to you from across the room. Very fun, casual, family friendly atmosphere. Prepare for a very long wait if going Friday or Saturday. I recommend going mid-week to avoid the larger crowds, although the more the merrier mentality does lend to the atmosphere. more
