Yummy!!! 6/6/2007

I love dinner at Lala's! The steak with mushroom sauce is to die for! I always order it with half mashed potatoes, half salad. The bread and oil dip is delicious, too. I don't know the ingredients, but it's highly addictive. One of my favorite dinner spots. Pros: Food! Nice outside patio. Cons: Parking is a pain - just pay for valet, it's worth it more

From bad to worse 4/25/2007

Being born and raised in Argentina, Lala's was one those eateries that I used to go frecuently. I have to admit that in the beginning food and service wasn't that bad althought nothing out of the ordinary. It had a trendy ambience and I didn't mind settle for less in quality as long as food and service were ok. But, slowly but surely the level of food and service (horrible these days) went down noticeably. Last time I was there I ordered a chicken milanesa. Let me tell you, it was so badly burnt that I had to send it back. To my surprise, they get rid of the marinated burnt parts and brought it back to the table. Oh man! That was the final straw. I will never, ever go back to Lala's and I strongly recommend not to go either. Bad food. lousy service, terrible parking and pricey tabs. Cons: Everything more

Incredible food 10/29/2006

The food here is amazing. I could spend a lifetime figuring out which kind of skirt steak I like best, not to mention the salads, chicken and wine. Not a huge fan of the sangria, but everything else is great. The food is just so incredible, you HAVE to give it a shot. Pros: Food, Food, Food more

Great authentic flavors 10/7/2006

From the chimichurri sauce & bread to the entrana & sangria you cannot go wrong.\r The service is awesome and the only thing better is Lala's special mashed potatoes!\r Ask for them - you'll be glad you did.\r \r Desserts are something to be desired though, not a great selection...so loadup on the beef & Lala's potatoes.\r \r The sangria alone, warrants a visit - very refreshing & light! Pros: Great beef dishes & Sangria! Cons: Parking is very busy inspite of valet more

it was alright 8/7/2006

we've been to the lala's on melrose and went to this one since it was closer for everyone and i have to say, the melrose one is way better. the entrana steak and chimmichurri were still awesome, but they didn't have the white wine sangria that was so delish at the melrose one. it was pretty busy for a monday night, though, and the service was also still excellent. we were lucky and got a spot in the parking lot, so at least that was better. i think we'll stick with the melrose one from now on, though. Pros: entrana steak, chimmichurri Cons: no white wine sangria! more

Good food at reasonable prices. 7/27/2006

This restaurant was recommended by a friend, so I took my family for lunch on a Saturday. The food was very good & the Sangria was refreshing. The only draw back is that it was a hot day & the restaurant was very HOT inside, the air conditioner could not cool the place down so it was very uncomfortable. Other that that I truly recommend this place. Pros: Empanadas, Sangria Cons: Hot inside more

I'm getting hungry just writing this! 6/7/2006

I've visited both this and the Melrose Lala's location, and they're both a lot of fun. The Studio City restaurant doesn't have as nice (or big) of a patio, but the food's still great, and the service at the time of our visit was jovial and attentive. The chimichurri sauce served with the bread is my favorite part of the Lala's experience - I drizzle it on eveything from empanadas to salad. The proveleta is also a revelation: melted cheese in a skillet - how can you go wrong? more

Mediocre Food, Stuffy Service 10/7/2005

I am Argentinean and have to say I've tasted better. While the food is most certainly not bad, it's nothing out of the ordinary. The real downer is the service. The checks are difficult to read and all the employees are arrogant and stuffy. Not a very good atmosphere more

SERVICE THAT CAN KILL AN EVENING 6/14/2005

LaLa's menu is well planned and very well made. Everything to cover all your tastes from steaks to chicken to salmon. You can have then covered in mushrooms and a delightful sauce or marinated in garlic herbs and olive oil. The food doesn't get much better than this. They also have a choice wine selection. The problem is the service. Untrained servers are unattentive to the customers needs. The service kills the entire experience. On top of that the ""valet parking only"" is really bad. The valets are severely rude. There is NO other parking in the area unless you get really lucky and one of the few street places pops open as you drive by. All in All it is not worth the poor service to go through getting parked and into the restaurant. Pros: food, wine Cons: valets, service in general more

Great value 10/22/2003

Friendly service, staff is willing to make food and drink suggestions. Orange-glow lighting creates a very warm atmosphere. Parking was no problem, as $3 valet service is available. Pros: inexpensive, valet parking more

Great service, fabulous food. 10/18/2003

My husband and I went to LaLa's to grab a quick dinner, and it turned out to be one of the best (if not THE best) places I've ever eaten in LA. The staff were good at volunteering reccommendations from the menu, and the service was great. The food itself was absolutely delicious and our check was under $40. My new favorite! Pros: Inexpensive, great food, good service Cons: not enough parking more
