We had our ceremony & reception at Lakeside. I rated our experience as one star (Not Recommended). Two stars (Below Average) did not quite describe it. I would NOT RECOMMEND Lakeside Weddings due to our coordinator, Shannon. Once our deposit was made, the friendliness and promises were fake. This frustrated me since we had over nine months to plan our wedding. I really feel the previous reviews with five stars were brides that did not have much time. I chose this place since it was the BEST VALUE in terms of having an outdoor wedding. It was also clean in comparison to other outdoor venues. Also, our pictures did turn out great and our guests had a good time. However, here is a list of things that went wrong. (1) 15+ candles we purchased were not setup on the reception tables. - We offered for friends to setup the tables, but the coordinator insisted. (2) Candy bar was hidden behind DJ area (most guests did not know it existed - when questioned they responded that the DJ announced it.-LIES! There was lots of room at the entrance near our cake. (3) We were rushed from each event (ie. greeting guests, cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, etc) (4) We were told how to cut our cake - guests were annoyed and thought it was pushy (5) Photographer pointed out they work with poor lighting (6) The floor layout was sent less than 1 week prior to our wedding, while I left messages regarding this. (7) Ceremony music was not heard 8) Bridal party was not served -only bride & groom-TACKY! (9) Appetizers were not good (10) At the rehersal, family told not to take pictures, but they did anyway on the big day. Coordinator was upset there was a large group at the rehesal... when everyone was part of the immediate family - (11) Do not take verbal agreements (12)The most annoying part was the coordinator was just doing her job. We did NOT feel she was genuinely interested in making it our special day. Read kudzu for more reviews w/ similar complaints.
