Hidden in the NE reaches of the Twin Cities, 50-year-old Lakeshore Players annually offers a season of three plays, two musicals, and a holiday show. However, this is not a repertory company; each production has a unique director and cast, and therefore, quality. Be prepared to see the full range of community theater - from the very worst to the nearly-professional. (They do not pay their actors.). Not as well-known as their sometimes less satisfying city cousin, Theatre in the Round Players, Lakeshore more than once has won international awards and acclaim in one-act competitions. Though they once dared to stage an occasional area premier (Baby, Secret Garden, Sisters Rosensweig), they now stick to your tried-and-true community theater standards, often with good results, that is, if youre not a theater connoisseur.
