We are disgusted at their priority of 6/8/2012

We are disgusted at their priority of pretension over service. We arrived on time, had called earlier to confirm, and were seated at a table next to the wash bin covered in pollen and bird poop. We asked to move inside after our menus were blown away. Our waiter acted completely put out by our request and sent me to take it up the maitre d to deal with our request. Once inside our previous waiter stopped by every three minutes to see if we had finally made a decision on our order. It took us a bit longer than that to look through the twenty plus page wine list, which boasts an excessive variety of five hundred dollar wines. Once we landed on one of reason (expecting to pay close to two hundred for the meal) he asked for our IDs. My wife often doesn't carry her purse when we are out together. However, with six college and graduate degrees between the two of us, home owners, and married five years, we never guessed he would refuse to serve her wine. But he did, and told some lies about it being New Mexico law to card. The floor manager came over, wouldn't speak directly to my wife, and told me he would not serve wine to ""my wife."" I asked him if he had carded the sixty- something couple enjoying their wine next to us. The floor manager refused to call the manager to talk with us. Needless to say we left then and there. The worst, most pretentious service we have ever had. Diners beware: gold rolexes required for good service. more

First time visitors to Santa Fe & we picked a bad restaurant 10/19/2010

HORRIBLE UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE-First evening in Santa Fe and we made a big disappointing mistake by choosing La Casa Sena for dinner. Very cold unwelcoming staff and atmosphere, very expensive considering the limited food choices, portion size and taste. We would have walked out after reviewing the menu but we made the mistake of ordering drinks when we were seated. Oh and the waiter added 20% tip to the total bill even though it was NOT deserved. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU WANT AN ENJOYABLE EATING EXPERIENCE. RESTAURANT IS NOT EVEN DESERVING OF A ONE STAR RATING. We should have just gone out for a burger! more

Great atmosphere, delicious food, adequate service 8/29/2010

We had a great meal at La Cantina. Our waiter was attentive, but we did not feel at all rushed. Everything we ordered was delicious and very affordable for the area. The open-air atmosphere on the rooftop was lovely, the reggae music made everything festive, and the crowd was fairly young and hip. I would definitely go back again. more

A bad experience - not recommended 9/2/2005

Ordered Ultimate Margarita -cost $8.50 and was served in a small glass - not that good. Steak Fajitas were below average - meat not top quality. Salsa and chips were extra - service was rushed, appeared to want you in and out as soon as possible. The drinks came fast, the chips and salsa even faster, within 2 minutes of receiving the chips and salsa the fajitas came - then the check. The table next to us mentioned to the waitress that ""are you trying to hurry us out"", when she came back twice and asked if they wanted anything else. There was a line outside waiting for tables so I guess they were trying to get you fed and out as quick as possible - not a pleasant experience - certainly not recommended. We will try somewhere else for dinner for our 2nd night - let's hope for better. Pros: open air tables Cons: rushed service, small drinks, poor quality more

Roof fell in on Roof Top Cantina 7/15/2005

My family and I stoped by for a small dinner and a drink. For the price, the drinks were not woth it. Very small Margarietas!! Wehn we decided to get appatizers for dinner, our server was not happy. He also kept attempting to get us to order higher priced drinks and food. The Trio Appitizer was great! Pros: atmosphere, food, location Cons: server, small expensive drink more
