Kwik Kar Lube & Tune

I took my car here when I first moved to McKinney. They were professional, and honest about the best time to come if I didn't want a long wait time. They inspected both of my cars, and changed the oil. I have a crack on one windshield and was concerned about it passing inspection, but they were honest and said that the crack did not impeed vision, so my van passed. One of my cars has a tricky oil pan with stripped nut and bolts. They listened when I told them about it, and were able to change the oil with no problem (I've had the car dealer tell me to order a new oil pan which is is expensive!). I like the service and I will continue to use Kwik Kar Lube and Tune, and I recommend them. more

Went in for an inspection on my Jeep. When they finally took it back, one the guys comes into to lobby and notes the my windshield wipers are starting to get a little worn and streak, asks if I want to replace them now (standard upsell for these places). I said ""No, they've been fine and plan to trade vehicle in in a few months"" (waiting on 2011 pickups). Five minutes later he comes back and now says they won't pass my inspection without replacing them. So when the initial upsell did not work, they forced my hand to get another $20. It's not about the money (can easily afford it, have spent about $2K keeping it up in past 18 months or so, new tires/brakes/shocks/belts). I have a well maintained vehicle that's trustworthy. It's about how they did it. When they went from an informal recommendation about starting to wear and turn around in 5 minutes to being so badly worn they're going to fail the inspection, that's trying to make a buck the wrong way. They'll never get my business again. Recommend avoiding. Noticed all the other bad reviews after I got the treatment. Pros: Didn't take too long... Cons: to get scammed more

This store's manager is arrogant and condescending to customers. He cares nothing about return customers and will drive this business into the ground. If he continues to treat customers this way, there will be one less auto shop in Mckinney. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!! more

Very friendly service providers but lack the actual service. This particular lube and tune performed a simple oil change, failed to seal the bottom oil pan, which caused all of the oil to leak out within 2 days. After repeatedly talking with management, they failed to stand by their work and refused me a refund or credit for another oil change. Which I needed 2 days later, so my engine wasnt completely destroyed. So basically, I paid $120 for 2 oil changes, a new oil pan, and a new oil plug for a V6 engine in 3 days. Even with the gas prices so high, its worth the extra drive to avoid this location.
