Kramer's Custom Kitchens

I'm not sure how many stars are good but I will say that I give Andy Kramer and the staff @ Kramer's Custom Woodorking and Kitchens five out of five stars. We recently had Andy design and build a basement rec room in our home which included a Bar and TV Media Wall unit. It looks great! I knew it would because I had him do our kitchen five years ago and we had a great experience with that as well. We had actually used a program to help us lay out our kitchen so that we could show him what we wanted. Andy pointed out several design flaws that would have made the utility of our kitchen much less efficient. He reorganized our concept and gave us a kitchen that not only looks great but is a joy to work in. Take my advice, call Andy. He has 25 years experience building cabinets for homeowners. He knows what works and what doesn't. more

We had looked into Kramers Custom Kitchens doing our cabinets and was so turned off by Andy. KJP216's review describes exactly what Kramer lacks and at the same time exactly what Hamlin's strengths are. Phone calls not returned, no attention, no organization, absolutely zero flexibility, ignoring details, making changes on his own, and no EMAIL this day in age????? I am so grateful we went with the Hamlins! Their family business was amazing from start to finish, we dealt directly with the owner Brian Hamlin who guided us through every detail. Their designs were great, Brian took the time to go through everything with us and when we changed a few things on our plans and Brian was able to email us the updated plans so we could approve them from home. Every phone call was returned promptly from Brian himself. He even made time to meet with us once at 7:30 pm on a tuesday night and another time on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm. I can't put into words the service the Hamlins provided us with, not to mention the kitchen cabinets are a work of art!!!! I would strongly suggest anyone who is remodeling to use Hamlin Cabinets!!! I sure am glad we did!!!! more

We love our cabinents from Andy; he does amazing work and is an extremely nice person - but it took a lot of prodding and nudging to get him to focus on our project. I only gave him 3 stars because he lacks organization and it incredibly hard to get in touch with. Phone calls to us and or builder were rarely returned; he doesn't use email so submitting drawings via pdf file was impossible; and he was incredibly inflexible in making appointments on weekends or evenings, when most homewowners are available. Further, some of the details of our drawings were ignored and he opted to make changes without consulting us - this was irritating. Lastly, maybe this is typical of the industry, he would say his installer was coming and they'd never show up. No phone call; no email. We lose out on work for the day and no explanation. Our finished products are beautiful and price was very fair, but the lack of organization is enough for me to say check elsewhere. Pros: Absolutely gorgeous cabinents.... Cons: Needs an office manager to keep him focused. more
