BUYER BEWARE.....This company brags they have been in business for years...I'm not sure how they've stayed in business.....they will gladly take your money and tell you stories of how they have done EVERYTHING right, however, once they get your money, they don't stand behind the stores they tell you! I bought a 1964 Impala for $31,000. The orange tag you see hanging from the rear view mirrors on all their cars on their lot, stating the work that has been done on the car stated "Here is a every nut and bolt frame off restoration. No expense spared" Which was a lie, the first time I took this car for a drive, it smoked so bad, I took it to a mechanic.
The major problem being the engine was not bored properly, which caused the piston rings to score the engine block, leaking oil up onto the pistons and burning the oil. So the engine ended up having to be re bored and new pistons put in. It has cost me $5000. to get it fixed. I made several trips to Kompact Kar Korner to talk to them and let them know of the problems I was having, (I live over 2 hours away) and got the run around each time. Then I was told the engine was over revved and it was my fault. When we last spoke Jim Amundsen, offered me $500. when I showed him photos and original bills on what I spend to get the car in working order. (which I think was to just to try and get rid of me) needless to say, I haven't heard from him or seen a cent from him since.
SHAME ON YOU KOMPACT KAR KORNER you should not advertise work that wasn't done on the cars you sell. This car was NOT an every nut and bolt off restoration, it was put together beautifully on the outside, but under the hood was mickey mouse'd together to get my money and get the thing off their lot!!!
If you are thinking of buying a car at this place, please do your homework and make sure you are not getting ripped off like I was.
