I am a foody, son of a chef and overall fan of great food. I used to dine at Kohinoor a few years ago because my ex-wife liked it. To my, I thought the family that owned it was wonderful, but the food was just ok. They recently had a fire destroy the restaurant. It was closed for some time and just reopened last month. I went in last night to congratulate the owner on the reopening. He treated me to the best Indian food I have ever had. I was completely honest with him and said ""the food was never this good. what happened? Did you get a new chef?"" The owner explained that while they were rebuilding the restaurant, the chef trained under another chef and improved his abilities tremendously. I couldn't agree more. I understand why some of the posts below complained about the food, but as you can see, those posts are ?pre fire? and ?pre chef?s new training?. You HAVE to go try this place again. The family who owns it is so pleasant and always in there working. I would hate to see people turned away from this family owned business with excellent food because of the old posts below, so I had to post this. Go enjoy the food.
Pros: Food, warm service from family that owns it
Cons: a little expensive depending on what you order.
