King of the Hill Steakhouse

We've always been interested in trying this place and so followed a whim and went yesterday on the way home from Ohio. BIG mistake! It started out nice ... the atmosphere was great, the waitress was awesome, and the place SMELLED good! We got a blooming onion for an appetizer and it was yummy ... then we got the cod and wings. The fish was out of this world! The wings - RAW! I mean bloody in the center! We sent the wings back, and asked for a longer cook time. The cook gave a face like we didn't know what we were talking about, so we canceled the order. Then my mom was watching him and noticed he was licking his fingers and wiping his brow!!! She thought she was nuts and asked me to watch too! Well, moments later he did just that - licked his fingers! OH GROSS! I instantly got sick and wondered if we witnessed that, what exactly did we NOT see!!! Mom asked for the manager, and I went to lose what I had eaten thus far. The manager said she would "address this immediatly with the cook" and "adjust out bill". She adjusted the bill and took off the wings. SHE TOOK OFF THE WINGS! Duh ... the order was CANCELED LADY!!! She walked up to the cook and talked to him, but while watching, we never saw him even wash his grubby paws!!! GROSS!!! I proceeded to go outside to try and stop being sick ... and lost more of my dinner in the spot light! BAD BAD BAD experience .... adjust our bill ???? Gosh ... they're just lucky I didn't end up with food poisoning!! EWWWW!!! Never again will I return! EWWWWWWW more

I recently took some friends to the King of the Hill in the big town of Bentleyville! I was in there a few years ago and it wasnt a good experience! I wanted to give it another try and to what my suprise, a new chef refreshed look nice menu not pricey. The chef even came out and spoke with us, I think his name was Chris there were 12 of us they handled it very well. Mgr Monica stopped by and checked on our group, never ever before were we treated this good! more

I took my husband there for a well deserved dinner away from the kids. The steaks were perfectly cooked and very tasty. I recommend this restaurant to every body. more

The new chef of Knig of the Hill HAS turned that place around. I went there on 4/5/2011 and the place was packed. I had great service and my Filet was outstanding. I read some of the other reviews and was skeptical but now i will go there every chance i get. more

My husband surprised me with making dinner reservation at your place, this was the hi-lite of the whole evening. It started out bad and went downhill from there. The waitress was the bartender whom apparently never waitressed before. We got our mushroom caps with our dinner, I picked one veggie and was not told until my dinner arrive you did not have anymore left. We waited for over 1/2 an hour to get our bill and was told then we had a free dessert. We will not be back. L Powell more

We ate at the restaurant for a late lunch on a return trip from out of town. There were only a few customers in the place plus bar patrons. I thought the service was slow considering that we were basically by ourselves. Burgers were OK, but nothing to rave about. French fries were on the cold side. Prices wee a little on the high side for ordinary fare. Atmosphere is fantastic. The place is renovated in the King Arthur setting with swords, armor, banners, etc. I hope the service can be brought up to the level of the building atmosphere. Time will tell. more

Casual atmosphere as this Steakhouse was renovated from an old church. The decor is very interesting. The food is fantastic. Great value for the money. I would recommend their filet mignon. They have in house specials daily. Open for lunch and dinner the menu has a nice variety of food. Parking is plentiful. Wait staff is excellent! more
