something for everyone 1/25/2006

We arrived at Keystone, in March, just after a 9"" dump the evening before and were able to get first tracks. There are 3 mountains to pick from and it seems to step form most simple to most difficult. In between and getting from mountain to mountain, is were the hidden treasure lies! Perhaps it was the snowfall but the bumps were covered in knee deep snow which made for the BEST in bump skiing comfort for this old man,(47). The cat wasn't running that day, regardless, if you can't find a piece of Keystone for yourself...you either don't like skiing or you're in the grave! Tips up from Minnesota! Pros: snow quality, great people, lots of choices Cons: prices at mount., travel $$$, not enough time more

If you like ice... 11/13/2002

If you like ice go night skiing at Keystone. While it's definitely an experience that everyone should try, the few dimly-lit runs are no joke on a cold January night. During the day, however, Keystone is a well-designed mountain with great variety in terrain. Unfortunately, it gets one of the lowest amounts of total snowfall in all of Colorado which will lend itself to icy conditions up until the end of February. Pros: variety of terrain, night skiing, gondola Cons: lesser snowfall, patchy/icy more

Awesome night riding 11/5/2002

I've been going to Keystone for about 7 yrs now and every year, I whine about how we should try other resorts, yet when we do, I yearn to head back to Keystone. To me, what seperate Keystone(beside night skiing), are the unique runs. What I mean is each run has its own characteristic. Most resorts, their trails are usually divided by a single line of tress and they call it a different trail. Not Keystone. Most of its trails has its own unique terrain. My 2 favorites has to be Pavemaster and Mozart. Speaking of night Keystone, their night skiing is awesome....not just 1 trail like most rsorts but several are opens for limitless fun skiing. Pros: unique trail, ski-in ski-out, night skiing Cons: least amount of snow more

Under-rated 9/3/2002

This mountain being next to Breck and so close to the others gets over looked. I never hear raves about Keystone. One reason, plain and simple, theres a lot of beginners. Great place to start out - Blue runs are not so bad for the beginners to try either. Changed a bit - The Area 51 run used to be great! but it changed to a Terrain park, oh well. None the less - still a great mountain. If you go - be sure to take Mozart, its a blue but rides like a black - one of my most favorite runs. I'd say Keystone's signature rune, besides the outback. Pros: great Blue and Black Cons: I-70 more

Nightskiing 7/22/2002

Worth every penny for the nightskiing....go at your own pace all day - you've still got the night. more
