Set on the Intracoastal Waterway, these time-share units are well-maintained and popular with families who want space and easy access to the Gulf of Mexico, which is just across the street. Views are of the boat traffic plying the channel that links much of the state. Loads of good seafood restaurants are located nearby, including some that are within walking distance.

The Details
Because these are time shares, individual rooms aren't always available, and reservations must be made at least 45 days prior to your visit. The 32 one- and two-bedroom suites come fully equipped with cable TV, stereo/CD players and kitchens. Telephones are private, and local phone calls are free. Many suites also have large baths with sunken tubs--if you're interested, be sure to request one when you make your reservations. All accommodations have safes. On-site R&R includes an outdoor heated pool, sauna, shuffleboard courts and new fishing pier into the waterway. Concierge services and laundry facilities are available.
