Kennedy Book Store 8/18/2005

Kennedy Book store is convenient to the UK campus, but of course parking is a headache. Their prices are competitive with the campus bookstore but of course more expensive than the internet or other resources, Be prepared to stand in line at the start of the semester. They never have enough help and the lines can seem endless and they always seem to be out of at least one book you need each semester. more

Kennedy Book Store provides textbooks and supplies for UK students and more 7/26/2005

Kennedy Book Store is located across the street from the University of Kentucky's Old Student Center, on South Limestone Street. They carry a complete selection of textbooks for classes at the University of Kentucky, organized on the shelves by course numbers and sections, much like the University Bookstore's shelves. Kennedy Bookstore, along with Wildcat Textbooks and the eCampus.com Warehouse Bookstore, provide students with opportunities to shop for their textbooks, school supplies and UK logo apparel, throughout the year. Kennedy Book Store also carries greeting cards, posters, backpacks, art supplies, and general fiction and nonfiction used books. Anyone can shop at Kennedy Book Store, although it is best to wait until after the current semester is at least halfway along before you pounce on the leftover textbooks available on the courses-by-number shelves. more

A familiar face to all UK students 7/25/2005

Kennedy's is a reliable place to get your textbooks for UK, LCC, and some of the other Lexington campuses. They are usually very good about having enough books in stock, and being reasonable on their textbook prices. Everything else in the store is outrageously expensive, however, so save yourself the money and head to Wal-Mart for the school supplies. While you're there, take a walk next door to Kennedy's Art Part. The prices over here are surprisingly reasonable for what you get, and with all the little supplies it's hard to not leave with something. My children love their ultra-detailed coloring books, which are cheaper than any of the Disney coloring books from Wal-Mart. The paper lover will be agog at the variety of handmade paper available in large sheets. If you have a paper lover in your family, spend the couple of bucks and buy a sheet to wrap a few gifts. You won't regret it. As a homeschooling mom (and LCC student) I use this store as a resource for my children's art education. more
