Kapinos Builders

My husband and I loved working with Kevin and hope to have his guys back to do another small job for us. We had Kevin give us a quote for a small kitchen reno (we are doing some of the work ourselves, but had some items that we simply don't have the skill set to handle.) First of all, the quote was dead on what we were billed for, with the exception of extra's I added in that we came across along the way (I changed my mind on countertop layout and extended it to cover more square footage, and we came across a plumbing issue from previously installed- via prior homeowner- pipes.) He worked with our whacky scheduling issues, was always on time, and Kevin himself did the initial demo. Very professional electrician, plumber, and dry wall crew. Finished the job up in a matter of days, and after they left each day- with the exception of the completed work- you never would have known they were there! We absolutely loved working with them!!!! A past customer of mine had notified me of a review posted as ""what can happen next"". As I read the review I found it bothersome. I realize that everyone has an opinion an are entitled to them. But for someone to hide behind the keyboard and tell a one sided story that leaves most of the details out gives a FALSE impression of the situation. I am Kevin Kapinos the owner of Kapinos Builders. I have been doing remodeling in harford county for 22 years. And this is the first time I have ever come across a customer such as this. This is the first time my guys were cursed at for doing things we were requested to do. This is the first time they waited outside so the owner could finished shouting profanity at her children while getting ready for school. This is also the first time that I have had a homeowner that refused to work things out. With any large renovation (this one was about $250,000.00) there is disruption. It is my job to address any concerns and to make sure the project is completed in a quality and professional manner. And I could provide a list of references that would stand behind Kapinos Builders and state that we are not a company as discribed by this ONE homeowner. And it is only ONE! more

I was compelled to write this review after reading the review posted by Whatcanhappennext in April. Kapinos Builders completed our home addition and we couldn't be happier. Their quality and attention to detail was beyond our expectations. We LOVE our addtion and would hire Kapinos Builders again without question. Kevin, the owner, was so easy to work with and very professional. My wife had difficulty making up her mind on many details. Kevin was very patient and understanding and guided us in the direction needed. We recommend Kapinos Builders to everyone we know. And no we are NOT related. After reading the previous review, we feel that a competitor is pulling a prank. Before you hire any contractor, speak to their references first hand. Kevin provided us with a list of references, both past and present jobs that were active in the field. Some of the jobs we called were in the middle phases. This is where you will get your true review. Kevin could have handed us a sample of selected jobs that were perfect as many contractors do. But he wanted us to have a sample of what was happening in the now. After this review process, we knew we could trust him with our home. And I'm glad we did. Our experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. Deadlines were ignored/missed, workmen did not show up, quality of work is bad, drywall tape is peeling, paint is cracking, floor in not level, the list goes on and on. Pros: always showed up to get the next installment Cons: too many to list here more

We've had 3 major projects done by Kevin and the guys at Kapinos Builders. They continue to ALWAYS exceed our expectations. We will continue to recommend AND hire Kapinos for any repairs or construction jobs in the future! more
