Sushi isn't my thing, but the beef bowl and bento box is. Most go here for the sushi, including my girlfriend. I just like to make her happy so I'll go and avoid looking at her plate. Parking in the lot if you're lucky. Just a few spots. more

hands down the best sushi in the east bay 6/25/2007

The head sushi chef with over 12 years of training and over 4 years as the sushi chef in Tokyo's downtown hotels. Fish shipments come in twice sometimes three times a week. Impeccable quality! Over 60 varieties of sake on hand. Try their fusion menu, which is real fusion cuisine that marries the flavors without drowning them out. Why go to SF? when you get better food at a better price with actual parking? Pros: food, parking, sake selection Cons: ok service more

Awesome sushi, nice atmoshpere, and a comprehensive menu make this a winner! 1/15/2007

This restaurant recently reopened under the name ""Kansai"". They've remodeled the place, and it's a fresh change.\r \r While they have high quality fish, complimentary tea and miso soup, and traditional maki and nigiri, their non-traditional fusion rolls is where Kansai really shines.\r \r They serve up ENORMOUS colorful feasts of imaginative offerings unlike any other sushi restaurant I've been too. This is certainly not for the sushi purist. But those looking for a culinary adventure will find good reason to come back to Kansai again and again with their huge menu.\r \r People knock the music selection (which ranges from Barry White, to Moby, to jazz)...but I think it's a perfect match for their non-traditional cuisine. The only other gripe may be the ""tacky"" waiter call buttons on the table. A good idea I guess if your server is lagging.....but not exactly high class.\r \r Overall, an excellent place that is highly recommended. Some of the best sushi I've ever had in the Bay Area. Pros: Quality Fish, Extraordinary Selection, Unique Ambience, Parking Cons: Service staff very friendly...but young, ""tacky"" server call buttons on tables more
