The best mechanic in San Francisco 2/11/2009

It's taken me the 3 years I've lived in The City to find a great mechanic. But at last I have and I'm a customer for life. Besides being charming, Kirill is honest, fair, smart, and great at diagnosing and solving car problems.\r \r I went to him to see what it would take to make my 1997 car last another 2 years (yes, I know--not a green thing to do, but I lost my job and times are tight). He reviewed all the systems, fixed a bunch of things, said I was good to go, and charged me only $600. He was great at explaining what needed to be done.\r \r There were a lot of cars there--ranging from highendmobiles to cars even older than mine.\r \r His garage is tucked away on the 2nd floor so it's a thrill maneuvering in and out.\r \r Unreservedly recommended.\r Pros: Great rates, great work, on time, nifty 2nd floor location Cons: Hmmmmm...none come to mind more

By far the best automechanic I've ever experienced. Affordable and honest. 10/29/2008

I'm 32 y/o professional who drives daily. I'm not a 'car person' my driving is usually hard on a vehicle.\r So I had taken my cars to many mechanics before and had different experiences - some better and some worse. In every case I felt like I didn't know exactly what was going on, and if I was charged fairly. I was never in control.\r \r Until I met this guy. A friend of mine referred me to this auto mechanic. He was very religious about using only his services and told me that he was the most knowledgeable and honest mechanic in town.\r \r I'm full of gratitude for this referral. And this is the only reason I'm writing this review - people should know about REAL and HONEST service providers.\r \r Anyhow, the owner of the business turned out to have a great attitude. He impressed me with his knowledge. He explained all options not just from technical perspective, but from financial one. I knew exactly what I was offered, why I needed that service, what would happen if I chose a different option, etc. etc.\r He offered me different options as to purchasing the spare parts, including used ones or new, branded ones. \r I felt like he was my buddy, who was trying to help by offering the best work and charging fairly. \r The work was done fast and excellent. It still lasts.\r It wasn't an easy task too. He repaired the engine for a very and rare Toyota Van. He also helped me to prepare the previous car for sale, by fixing very specific and complex problem.\r I was impressed with the range of his knowledge and asked him how he ended up being so qualified.\r His story was actually quite interesting - he had gotten a University degree in mechanical engineering in Russia and then tons of education in the US.\r He is basically a brain surgeon when it comes to cars. And he is affordable.\r \r So I feel like this is a great chance for me to thank him for his professionalism, honesty. and consistency. I actually learned something from him about life and integrity. \r \r Five Stars +\r Pros: Affordable, Honest, Highly Professional, Presents different options Cons: you still have to pay money :) more

Best Full-Service Automotive in SF! Gotta check him out! You'll never regret it. 2/29/2008

Kirill, the owner, is an awesome dude! I ran into some issues with my right rear tire, a nail was caught in my tire, brought into my dealership, but was told i had to change the tire (which could potentially cost me a bomb, thanks Lexus! ouch) and the tire was non-patchable. But after reading the reviews on this page, i went ahead to give Kirill a call, brought my car in to KSH Automotive. As soon as Kirill saw the problem on the tire, he directed me to take a seat in the guest room, and said it'll take about 20 mins. When I asked him for the price quote, he went like ""$15, can you afford it?"" and smiling. It was amazing. He's very professional, reasonable and friendly. He's a very trustworthy business man I've ever met. To top it off, he has amazing team supporting him at his company. As promised my tire was patched within 20 mins, and worked perfect ever since. I highly recommend him to anyone and my friends. And I told him that he'll be assured to have my business from now on. Thumbs up to you, Kirill! Great job! Pros: Timely, reliable, very reasonably priced, and high expertise more

Honest prices, great service 1/17/2008

I do not know what car problems are anymore. I have not had any since I have been taking my car to Kirill (the owner of KSH Automotive). He not only fix existing issues with the care, which can be anything from simple oil change to problems with engine, but, like a good doctor, can also suggest what needs to be done in the future. \r He can give you a good advise when you buy a used care. My brogher wanted to buy a car and I suggested to take it down to KSH shop. He evaluated the total cost of repair and suggested not to buy it - which was a very wise advise. As a result we have found a better car that did not need as much repair work as the other one. Pros: Good service, reasonable prices, high quality work more

Great Auto Repair Shop, Very Honest, Friendly and Reasonable Pricing 7/3/2007

I have been fixing my car with Kirill (KSH Automotive Owner) for 7 years now. He was fixing my old Nissan first, then my Mustang, and now my Volvo. I had the worst experiences with mechanics before my friend introduced me to Kirill. I am so glad I found him. He is always nice and pleasant to talk to, very funny. Always finds the best deals on parts to minimize the cost. He also tells you what is going on with your car. He would say: ""You need to change your brakes now. But your tires are still good for another X thousand miles, but you should plan to change them within the next X months."" So he warns you of things to come, so you can budget. He always finds time for you even if he is extrememly busy. He will help you out in emergencies.\r His new shop is great. It has a wonderful waiting room where you can relax, read a magazine, watch TV or hook up your laptop. I recommend him to everyone I know. All my friends and family fix their cars at his shop. Check him out and you won't regret. Pros: Great service, great waiting room, he even drives you to work if you work in the City. more
