K Chocolatier

A quaint chocolate shop tucked in amongst the flashy stores of Beverly Hills, K Chocolatier offers some of the most exquisite chocolates. The store opened in 2000, when master chocolatier and owner Diana Kron sold her New York chocolate business and moved out west. She has stayed true to the recipes handed down by her husband’s great grandfather – chocolate-maker to Emperor Franz Josef of Austro-Hungary – while adding a modern twist with fun shapes and new flavors. The star of K Chocolatier are the hand-made pure-cocoa Truffles, which were a favorite of the late Jackie Kennedy. Also, the Aphrodisiac Chocolates are perfect for that special someone and the Teddy-Bear Rice Puff Chocolates are great for the kids. I am a lover of dark chocolate, ONLY, but when I visited their store in Brentwood, I started to LOVE milk chocolate. If you want to taste and not buy, for it is extremely expensive, you can stop by their stores and try their signature truffles (OH MY GOSH AMAZING) or their crispy chocolate-covered bears. I myself bought a bag of the bears for $35 and was amazed with myself for doing it, but it is well worth it! The truffles, though, will cost you $30 for a 6 oz bag or so or $60 for the larger. They also have this amazing solid chocolate star, which I will be purchasing for my daughter's friend, even though it is pricey, ($125) iI am assured by my daughter that this will be an unforgettable and unique present for her twin friends. Pros: delicious Cons: pricey but worth a splurge once and a while more

After watching food networks' show on k chocolatier, I had to see what the hype was about. I almost died and gone to heaven. Diane Kron is so nice and generous with her samples. You have to try the vodka filled chocolate, truffles, and mousse. Very expensive, but beautifully presented (and she gives you a plastic bag so you can take more home). Also, she is the creator of K Sensuals, a chocolate made with chinese herb to promote sexual feelings in women. Be prepared to pay $25-$60 for a small bag of various chocolates. more
