Just Kid'n Around

I took a brand new never used nature sounds full size swing and a nature sounds bouncy seat. I cound not return these to the store because they were put together and of corse I threw out the receipt. They were total 175.00 new and had not been used at all, still had tags on them. They offered 32.00 for both pieces. Come on I seen the same items in their store all stained up for 100.00 total. They want to pay nothing and mark it up so high you could have just bought new. I have not returned and never plan to. They are rude and outright said "I was gready". No I had brand new items not the stained trash they try to pass off. more

I am a regular shopper at this shop. I have read the reviews and think that most of them just want to complain about things. I have had no problems shopping here. I have done so for 4 years. They are upfront about their reasons for not purchasing your items, and are reasonable with their offers. I have seen people that thought their stuff was "gold", now come on its used, and most of the time stained. Why would they want that? I sold to Once Upon A child in Carmel and they stop buying before noon alot of the time because they are out of money. This place buys all day long. You are looking for bargains and wanting to get rid of things, don't expect treatment like Von Maur will offer. Shoppers check it out for yourself! more

I live an hour and half away but still visit this store often. The quality of the items they sell is great and they have one of the largest selections of any children's resale shop I have visited. I never leave empty handed. I have purchased several toys here that my son has loved. more

After I had read the reviews here I shopped the store and also took my items in to sell to them. I have sold items to other resale shops and this one shines above the rest. They separated the items they wanted and what they did not want and showed me a print out, it had each item that they wanted and how much they were paying me for it. Then they went over why the other items were not what they wanted and I felt very at ease about even spots on the clothes I had not noticed at home. Several of the other resale stores don't tell you how much for each item and act insulted if you ask what was wrong with the items they did not want to buy. I think their name says it all; it seemed to be a pleasant and fun atmosphere to be in and very friendly. While they were processing my stuff I shopped and found quite a few bargains. I found clothes that I can use for my child for play and for good clothes and all were reasonably priced for what I was getting. A play room for my child while I shopped that was not made like a cage, that my child could walk out to get me when she had to go to the bathroom. Oh yes; they even have a public bathroom with a changing table for the publics use. How many of the other resale shops have that??? In the world of recycling the too small clothes and outgrown toys this was so much easier than a garage sale and for the buying, who can afford to spend the money in gas to hit all the garage sales to find this many deals. more

I have to say this consignment store really needs to learn a thing or two about doing business. I have given this store several tries but have always come out disappointed. I am able to forgive the small things like their clothes really are over priced, and they pay very little for your used goods. I figure I can go to Target, Kohl's, Macys... and shop the clearance racks and do much better. If I am really feeling like a bargain prowess I will try my luck at garage sales and Goodwill! As far as paying very little for my stuff that is not a huge deal either. I have learned to take my stuff to other consignment shops that pay better first. Better yet, sell on ebay! What I can not forgive is the owner's lack of concern and compassion. My 12 month old was cut by one of the shopping carts in the store. I told the owner about it and she simply dismissed it and said to put the cart aside as she would have her "Hubby" grind down the sharp piece that cut my baby. That was it. No apology. No "Is your baby okay?" (He wasn't and have a nice 1 inch scar now.) Instead she cut me off mid - sentence and went to the next person at the buy counter. It appeared to me by her response that she knew some of the metal carts were sharp and that when they caused someone harm she would then deal with the issue! Bad business I say! After vowing not to go back, I did (3 months later) only to find a single mother pleading with the owner to buy something from her. She was offering up all kinds of her son's toys in hopes to receive a single dollar. You see, she feared her son's tooth would fall out that that evening and she didn't have any cash for 2 more days. She wanted to make sure the tooth fairy could visit! Wouldn't you think a woman in the kid stuff business could have found it in her heart to save this poor woman some humiliation and give her a dollar for her child? I say SHAME ON YOU! more

I've not been super impressed the few times I've been in this store. They seem to pay fairly low on merchandise that you are wanting to sell. I know I can do better at other local stores. Things seem too "busy" to be able to find anything to purchase. Even the stuff that is for resale doesn't seem much cheaper than buying new. more

i have taken things to sell here a few times, they are very fair with the pricing. the store has alot of things to look at, sometimes too many clothes to sort through but it's clean and has a little play area for the kids, which is great when you're trying to shop and waiting for your buy to be processed more

These people do not have a clue when it comes to what prices should be charged for used children's clothing. I found some items that still had tags. They were actually charging more than the original price on some of them. I don't know about you but when it comes to used clothing I buy used because of the value. Why pay more for something that will wear out sooner? Part of their problem is that they are a consignment shop and therefore they have to make a good chunk to stay in business but that chunk puts things out of reach for most people. Stick with Goodwill and yard sales. more

This is a great place to go for kids' clothing and large toys. They have a good selection and the prices are what you would expect to pay for used clothing. Most is in good condition. They also have new and used baby items, maternity clothes and costumes. If you're looking for a specific item you can tell them and they'll call you when they get one in and will give you first dibs at it. You will have to search through a lot of duds, but if you like a treasure hunt this is your place! more

I have taken my items to them to sell and I have also bought from there. The merchandise they buy from you is really looked over well. They are pretty picky on the stuff they buy. Their overall prices are kind of high. But, you can still find a good deal if you look hard enough. more
